Coronapocalypse Day 23 : Sequestration Checklist and Why The Finns Are Decent

Today began at 6:30 with trip to the grocery store with D. This was the first venture out after Gov. Wolf issued the “go out with a mask” warning. We don’t have any masks - who does? My travels in Asia over the past few years have made be quite uneasy seeing a good proportion of healthy people walking around with them on. I had been thinking that this was somewhat provocative - I’m wearing a mask because the rest of you have the cooties. And now - I am learning not to judge. Perhaps you need it because the gripping fear of SARS or MERS or Avian Flu or Coronavirus reduces your ability to function without it. Perhaps you are legitimately concerned about whether you are asymptomatic and not wanting to spread to the community. I’m willing to do this now, basically, because there will never be another time soon where I can go out in public dressed like a bank robber

OK - so mask check. 

Last night, I dutifully finished watching Tiger King. It was a terrific show. I really enjoy documentaries where there is moral ambiguity about every one in the cast as there was here. I think I am Team Joe even though he looked pretty bad at the end. Team Carole can go to hell. 

OK - so mass interest in latest Netflix sensation done, check. 

Finally, I did my patrotic duty and recorded a TikTok video doing that stupid dance to the Weeknd song Blinded By The Light. 

OK - so posted video on TikTok which China will use to hack my portfolio - check. 

What I really found interesting today was a story about the Finnish concept of pantsdrunk which is sort of really appropriate right now. I think many are familiar with the Finnish concept of hygge which loosely translates as an aspiration to make home comfortable and warm - I guess especially through tough and dark Finnish winters. The concept of pantsdrunk though is an offshoot. It translates as something like going home alone and drinking while in your underwear. This is an important concept. And apparently, it has the sanction of the government who I suspect would prefer to promote this than have a gazillion depressed Finns. I appreciated seeing this story today. It validates alot about how I roll.
