And now they're about to become parabati.

Luigi is just a tad insecure about that, thinking Mario got the short end picking him as his parabati.

Mario finds out and gets pissed because Luigi didn't come to him about it, and goes to knock some sense into him.

Then just as Luigi starts apologizing and spilling his guts, Mario tells him what he's known all along:
