Investigative Purposes \\ The Doctor/Jo \\ Event 13
The thought had been itching at her for the last week or two. She hadn't a clue if her memories would truly be lost after the pocket, if it ever actually ended, and part of her didn't really want to find out. Other sides were anxious, thinking and clicking away, trying to understand why it might be true. If it was, it might only make sense in the other universes. They had established how different each one was; couldn't this be yet another? Due to bruising, she spent every hot July day in neck to feet covering, whether it be a pair of jeans or a scarf. She hated scarves. Better to wear uncomfortable clothing then rouse suspicion, though. In search of somewhere with better air conditioning, the huntress had put her feet out on the boiling cement and headed towards the library. She had always known those places to be a little colder than others.
A creaky door pushed open through the silence. The streets had been emptier, those days, what with the lack of supplies. Tensions were too high. No one was interested in starting trouble. Not yet, at least. Boots moving silently over the wooden floors, she sat down in a soft looking chair, leaning slightly on her hand. Nervous eyes stumbled over their surroundings. Mostly books, closed windows and tall ceilings. It was the first time she had noticed how 'grand' the place was. Good. More space meant less heat. Suddenly, from a gap in one of the shelves, she saw a tuft of brown hair shifting behind it. Jo immediately sat up straight and narrowed her vision. "Hello?" She called out, just as the figure disappeared behind more books.
Although it was only for safe keeping, the woman had brought along an old hunting knife. What with all the raising fear her paranoia was just screaming for a little back up. She was glad she brought it then, although it was small chance that whoever it was might be an aggressor. Jo had a knack for expecting the worst.
Children of The Moon // The Doctor & Jo // Event 11
It was a curious thing, making new friends. Especially with the Doctor. He did seem like the type to invite over a random woman he had just met on the web. Not that it was exactly a bad thing, in there, everyone knew everyone. Except for Jo, of course. The woman had been a bit busy being alone. She had grown quite tired of messing around with darts and books, because fantasy had to end somewhere, right? After mashing black-socked feet into boots, Jo squirmed around in her jeans, pulling them up by the belt loops. It would probably do her some good to stop by that clothing store near, er, it must've been the library, she guessed. There were only a few outfits in her closet. Really, it hadn't been Jo's forte, meeting strangers at their houses for no reason. Maybe heaven had changed her a bit. Drove her curiosity up, that's all. She didn't expect the man to let her inside his blue box, but he might certainly show her the outside. Besides, she really did want to meet an alien.
She only spent a minute on his blog to figure out exactly which house he lived in. Shrugging on a green, course jacket, the huntress tucked her cellphone in her hand bag and headed out the door. Luckily, the alien man lived only a few minutes away. But so did everyone else, so... Her fingers rapped on the door three times. Uniform, the way it was supposed to be.
