Would LOVE to hear about A(E)W-C -> OF DOCK KINGS AND FALSE BATS
okay so this is a gift to @iron-sides and the premise is: What if Annabeth Chase is a Wayne and she had to come back during No Man’s Land.
Because I am crazy, I’ve made it more than just Percy, Annabeth and Grover but am playing with the concept of revitalizing Gotham from the Cataclysm. This is also super fun because BRUCE ISNT THERE he isn’t in Gotham and no one has any hope anymore and Annabeth is there. After a decade, she’s home again, and she’s basically walking into free real estate (can’t believe lex smh) to do what she needs to do to save Gotham from itself.
So, at the very start I had very little idea what to do with Percy, he and Annabeth are a Team so giving her, Helena, and Barbara all the Plot felt a little mean, but then…it came to me. Gotham is a port city, you know what Percy can control, water. Boom, Dock King Percy Jackson. Batman levels of mindfuckery. You’re a local goon trying to survive this crazy post-earthquake city, and then Aquaman’s great-uncle who is also 18 shows up to take you and your buddies out and gives you a free ride over the broken bridge to the mainland where people are waiting for you.
False Bats comes from Helena pretending to be Batman, and I’m trying to fit Jean-Paul Valley in here, and I will find a way istg. Annabeth is actively keeping up the ruse. Yes, this is Batman, no my father isnt dead, but I still feel like I’m parading his corpse around. All that good stuff. Is there a Batman without Bruce Wayne? There is now! Barbara 🤝 Annabeth: feeling like they’ve fundamentally betrayed Gotham by throwing their weight behind Helena.
Just, a lot of ‘The end of the world happened and we’re still here’ vibes. The girls leading the alliance and dealing with the apocalypse while Percy slowly edges closer to getting a minor god status, and Grover, the Demeter Cabin and Poison Ivy getting along too well for anyone’s safety.
