AU Idea: I'm actually plotting out this AU for an actual fic 😂 How it goes is it will be a two-timeline story: events from the past and events from the present. James and Rose were high school sweethearts and were each others' firsts for everything. They were inseparable and so, so in love in that naïve, hopeful, bright teenager-y fashion that was intense and beautiful and all-consuming. And then things started getting strained and (I can't spoil too much) they break up and go their separate ways, with James flying off to study abroad and eventually becoming an aerospace engineer to design space crafts, while Rose stayed local and opened up her own photography business/studio.

Flash forward ten years, James is back in town for a funeral (maybe, the details of why he's still there are fuzzy) and lo and behold, he runs into Rose. That old spark rekindles and they're basically fuck-buddies with emotional baggage for a week. And they reminisce on how good things were and speculate on all they could have been and what they could have become if life hadn't happened the way it did. And old, burnt-out feelings are revived, but are trying to be smothered because they both know James is fucking back off to whatever country he lives in after the funeral is finished, so they're both just enjoying their borrowed time and enjoying being the inseparable James and Rose they used to be, cos the road not taken is looking real good now...

Babe. I cannot tell you how much I am in love with this story that exists in my head. I'm like. agshkldasdlalskdjk. I need to find time to translate my messy brain story into a coherent written story because my god I haven't been able to let go of this idea for **months** 😂

REAL SO REAL nasuada fucking RULES!! elva being an enigma to everyone except angela is downright hilarious to me ,, they just have zero clue what to make of her. And glaedr and oromis!! I wanted nothing more as a kid than to learn from them (i used to try recreate that scene where eragon has to meditate on a tree stump and try and sense all the creatures around him. Id just sit in a field for 20 minutes and try and hear everything and identify all the sounds i could pick out.)

Also deeply loved seeing glimpses of the urgals culture in later books its so interesting to me !! And the dwarven clans and gods!!! Im just a sucker for that good good worldbuilding 😌

Ive had The Fork the Witch and the Worm for years and the Guide to Alagaesia too, but ive not read Murtagh yet 😔 ive loaned my bookset to my friend in an effort to get them to read it after 4 years of begging xD so i have to wait till they finish so i can reread the whole thing before the new book unfortunately T.T (its been almost a year. To be fair i also borrow books from them for a year at a time sksjsj were both terrible at remembering to read them)
