Owl Parent AU 29.9.21

The Owl Beast adopts Eda.

Owl Beast pov story with occasional confused Raine. Raeda. Eda adopts King and Luz. Badass and protective Eda. Even more badass and protective Owl Beast. How do you say badass without swearing. That is a daisy chain of adoptions that should strike fear into hearts of men. According to the Owl Beast Eda is hers and the children are Eda’s and everything of Eda’s is hers so the children are hers too. Eda gets somehow mommed by the giant ancient demon in her head. The Owl Beast says nothing hurts her child or grandchildren. Eda says nothing beats knowing you can call for mom and happily collapse into a mass of feathers as a giant demon solves all your problems if things really get desperate. Luz and King agree. Lilith is probably going to cry from sheer confusion. Raine says I Have Been Picked Up By A Giant Bird... Luz kidnapped AU 2.10.21

Eda & Luz. Raeda. This was supposed to be a quick two-paragraph idea then suddenly it’s been two hours and there is much more here. Help.

In a fit of carelessness Eda gets the Portal Door stolen from her by a group of criminals from the Night Market. She immediately goes after it because she knows it could do a lot of damage in the wrong hands. It takes her less than five days to track them down, stalking her way to their tent at the Night Market the instant the bastards stick their heads out of the ground.

Walking through the flap of their tent makes because the world drop out from under her because they have a human child up on stage with them that they’re bidding on and oh no oh no this is Eda’s fault she has to get that kid out of here now. Unfortunately, there’s only one way to do that without risking both the kid’s life and possibly the Portal and her ability to get the kid home. Thankfully she’s not exactly hard up on cash at the moment, and she has enough of a reputation —publicly fighting the face of the Emperor’s Coven to a draw, escape, or just plain victory multiple times, all ending with her in visibly better spirits then an incredibly frustrated Lily, will do that— that more than a few of her would-be competitors are a little hesitant to get in her way when she wants something.

Once she wins and gets the kid out, the trickiest part about getting the magical bindings off her is getting her to stop trying to nail Eda in the face with her elbow long enough for Eda to explain herself, because the kid is feisty. Apparently she’s feisty enough to succeed in blowing up the Portal Door to make sure the crooks couldn’t steal anymore kids. And, well, damn if Eda is not impressed.

It does mean that while out of the magic binding her and free as a bird, Luz doesn’t have a way to get back home. So one destroyed group of crooks later Eda ends up taking Luz back to the Owl House with her, because Luz is trapped here due to her carelessness —and she’s gonna be beating herself up about that for a while— and she owes the kid whatever it takes to make up for that and to try to get her home and keep her safe in the meantime.

Eda eventually calls Lilith asking if she had any advice on dealing with the guilt of permanently screwing someone’s life up because you were dumb and Lilith asks Luz how she forgave Eda and Luz says “well it probably would’ve gone really poorly if she hadn’t told me immediately and apologized” and then Lilith has a breakdown which is not the help Eda was hoping for.

Meanwhile the BAtTs —who actually have a pretty good information network because they need one if they’re gonna move against Belos— catch wind of rumors that Eda the Owl Lady bought a human at the Night Market recently and that is concerning on so manly levels so they go to investigate. Trying to remove Luz from Eda for even just a second results in Luz screaming for Eda and nearly breaking several BAtTs’ bones with the blunt instrument she’s taken to carrying around and ho boy is it a good thing that Eda and Raine used to date because if Eda didn’t have a reason for good faith there probably would’ve been murder.

Nice way to get reintroduced to your ex, Raine. This is not the impression they wanted to make but Eda is actually very impressed. ^_^   Day (130/100) in my #∞daysofwriting  @the-wip-project

Power of a name 9.10.21

The Boiling Isles Are Kinda The Fae Realm AU.

When Vee takes Luz’s place and becomes Camilla’s daughter, she steals Luz’s name as well, and names don’t just have power, people need them to survive.

Changelings normally take the place of newly-born babes, as they haven’t been named yet so when they are the name will belong to the changeling and the changeling alone. It is much much harder to steal a name from someone who already belongs to it. But with Luz in the Faerie world and Vee on Earth, it’s possible. Especially as Luz only had Camilla.

With her name stolen Luz starts to fade, her life force draining away and becoming incredibly sick. And it’s not slow either, it happens incredibly suddenly. Neither she nor Eda have any idea why this is happening, but Eda does recognize what is happening. And even if she has no idea how Luz has lost her name, she knows she won’t be able to survive without one. So Eda donates hers. Taking her as a daughter by ReNaming her as a  Clawthorne, and doing a bit of finagling to make sure she can still be called Luz, even if it has a different meaning now.  

So now you have Luz Noceda and Luz Clawthorne, one in the human world to live there with no fear of needing a glamour evermore, and one on the Boiling Isles as a human adopted by a faerie as a fae child instead of allowed to die for the loss of her name.

Vee is fae, Eda is fae, King is fae, everyone on the Boiling Isles is a faerie, it just is the fae world.

They all have That Kind of relationship with names and trickiness and morality quirks.

Vee-Luz was not acting maliciously, she was simply doing what is in her nature. She does not feel the slightest bit bad for stealing Luz’s life so completely she can never go back to it because she does not think she did anything wrong.

None of the others think Vee-Luz did anything wrong either, Eda’s just pissed because she hurt Luz

Luz is not Camilla’s daughter anymore, Luz is. Luz is a Clawthorne now, and that name is what’s keeping her alive.

It Makes a Village... 10.10.21

...if you adopt that many people Eda. Do you wanna maybe stop before you go from enemy of the state to Enemy State? Oh, whop, there goes another one, I take it that’s a no then? Maybe she’ll realize what she’s doing when she has to start charging her people taxes... Raine would like to apply for immigration please.

When Eda drops out of Hexside and runs away to be a Wild witch in the woods she largely resigns herself to the idea that she’ll be alone forever. That she’s too dangerous with the Owl Beast living inside her, and that this is the price she pays for living life how she wants to; free from the oppressive coven system and the rules of the empire. But she is not the only Wild witch, and more than any other she’s known, and she’s powerful. Even if she’s higher profile, more of a target for danger, to many it’s still worth it for her protection. So the other Wild witches, the young ones who don’t know how to stand on their own yet, seek her out. The first one Eda encounters is a child, running away from home as their parents try to pressure them into an apprenticeship and an early coven acceptance. Eda is barely an adult herself, but she can’t turn away this child staring up at her and promising anything for her protection. And... Eda is a people person. She loves people— needs people. It builds from there. Come canon time, Raine did not know about the village in the woods nearby when they went to visit Bonesborough. They learn about it through a brown-haired human teen named Luz, and the last thing they were expecting was what Eda had built, but an alliance with an independent nation could be exactly what their rebellion needs to succeed against the Emperor. Can it be a marriage alliance please?

Avatar the Last Airbender AU 7.10.21 The Owl House. Some Raeda because so help me I am determined to sneak it in everywhere. Eda is the banished Fire Princess. Lilith is the Fire Crown Princess. Luz is the Avatar. Willow is the last Southern waterbender. Gus is the Southern Water Tribe boy. Amity is the earthbending prodigy. Raine is Lilith’s chi-blocker non-bender friend. There is no Uncle Iroh analog. Either; Belos is the Fire Uncle and he’s very evil, or; Belos is the Fire Lord who kicked off the war 100 years ago. Sorry Gwendolyn but it’s the father that disappeared off into the night at some point and you’re the Fire Lady in charge of the whole thing. Based purely on the fact I know more about you and think you’d be easy to write as unhinged Eda(21) has somehow found herself mom-ing for a group of kids(12-14) who are on their way to fight her sister, mother, and country. Because she may have been quite happily banished but sweet fire these are actual children.

Avatar the Last Owlbender 7.10.21 Or: Can You Teach a Gremlin Child To Control the Elements When She Wasn’t Born With That Power? Inspired by a couple of those grandpa Aang posts floating around on tumblr. Raeda. Eda is the Avatar, she’s 50, wiser than she looks, has mastered every element but woe to the fool who tries to fight her in the air, has complete control over the Avatar State, and is still enough of a chaotic mess to get herself frozen in the ice for 100 years. Then Luz wakes her up and kicks her into setting off to start fixing the mess the world has gotten into. And Luz doesn’t have any powers, but Eda the Avatar remembers, even if Eda the Owl Lady wasn’t there for it, that people originally learned to bend the elements, instead of being born with it. Guess who’s the Earth King who’s been hanging around for the past 100 years and had  a close relationship with the avatar~ It’s Raine~ ^_^

AU generator idea

Bodyguard AU Ancient Rome ‎AU British ‎AU

Well I don’t know how to get Ancient Rome in there unless I pull some Doctor Who last centurion stuff, but;

Bodyguard AU 15.10.21 The Owl House. British AU with the Boiling Isles magic system. Raeda.  Raine is the bodyguard and is assigned to bodyguard some rich and influential lady of some kind and more importantly to bodyguard her kids. Of course Raine is great with the kids because I love myself some good Raine & Luz. Because of  course, the lady is Eda in disguise. She doesn’t say anything because Raine is also in disguise, as per bodyguard standards to be professional instead of an individual. Eventually they end up neck deep in appropriately spy-themed trouble, and for reasons Eda and Raine both reach for an instrument to play their way out of this with bard magic. They both start on the same song that only the two of them know at the same time and nearly startle eachother out of the rhythm.

Bards are the "theater kids" and so bodyguard is one of the careers that fall under their coven because it requires a lot of acting, even if it’s just acting unflappable and serious. It’s the career Raine got kinda shoved into against their will because it was viewed as the one their stage freight would cause the least problems in.

Optional: The shared melody makes it click for Raine. Eda on the other hand nearly attacks them demanding to know where they learned that song before they squeak out “Eda?!?” and proceed to give away their identity For bonus angst maybe when Raine became a bodyguard on top of the whole "you are a professional not an individual your identity can’t be known" their death was also faked so no-one would even begin to think it might be them. And at some point in the past Eda decided to look for them, and she found them listed as dead.   According to the message left on the generator I’m supposed to tag the creator if I make a meme using it, but I’m pretty sure this doesn’t count as a meme?  Day (137/100) in my #∞daysofwriting  @the-wip-project
