ok regarding the last posts tags bc i wanna talk about disabled clonelin now. im gonna project my disabilities onto them. it cannot be stopped.
clonelin has ocular motor apraxia, cerebellar hypoplasia, and deffff chronic pain. details for how that effects them under the cut! (yeah i kinda just put sum of my symptoms and disabilities onto them-)
ocular motor apraxia: im basing this off my experiences w/ the condition, so it may not be accurate to everyone that has it. 1. clonelin's eyes "lock" a lot, meaning they get stuck looking in one direction, resulting in rapid blinking or jerking of the head/neck to "unlock". this is worse when theyre tired. its not painful usually, just really annoying. they have trouble with reading or otherwise focusing on certain tasks due to this. they also cant look left/right to the full extent without turning/jerking their head. again, worsens when tired
cerebellar hypoplasia: same as above, based on my experiences w/ the condition! poor balance and fine motor skills, especially when they first are created/mimicking collin, but it gets a bit better with time, but it doesn t fully go away of course. another thing, they get absent seizures (technically a separate thing, but for me these 2 were related issues), especially triggered by flashing lights but also happen at random. this means sometimes theyll be seen staring blankly for a few seconds before coming back. it freaks collin out until he figures out whats happening. clonelin has thankfully only been injured once or twice during a seizure, unrelated to the seizure itself. they also have an intellectual disability (mild, but its there) (again, technically a separate thing, but im p sure its connected for me)
chronic pain: clonelin gets a lottttt of lower back pain and has to lay down a lot due to it. esp if theyve been standing or sitting for an extended period, or lifting or bending or doing anything straining on their back. the pain is due to a defect/fracture in their spine (pars defect).
clonelin doesnt "look" disabled to the average person, esp because theyve been able to adapt thru mimicking collin, but theyre still disabled and still have bad days.
plsssss ask me abt my disabled clonelin ideass i need to flesh this out more.
it’s my birthday today (yippee) and i fell on ice and hurt my back so. bad. i went to urgent care bc it hurt to sit in class. the doctor tells me she thinks it’s bruised but wants me to go get x-rays. so i get them and i read the notes and it says i have anterolisthesis in L5/S1 and bilateral pars defect.
the doctor explained that because i had previous spondylolysis and have hEDS, my spine was already a bit unstable and weak. and the trauma from the fall probably caused the vertebra to slide forward. and i bruised my tailbone :(
and im not joking, it’s so incredibly painful. it’s unbearable at times. and i was given nothing for pain management. all i have is tylenol, tiger balm, heating pad, and weed. i’m dying, at its worst it’s an 8 but it’s averaging a 7. it hurts so incredibly bad to sit down or change positions. like i’ve been on the verge of tears multiple times throughout the day. it’s so painful.
i’m calling ortho tomorrow to see if they can help address this. i need some pain management, it gets unbearable. i’m blindly hoping i feel better tomorrow but it’ll probably hurt even worse in the morning.
Got shot up with numbing agents and steroids today. The lidocaine is wearing off so now every couple of steps, that white hot needle-jabbing pain comes back. It’s just getting worse with time... shit better kick in in a few days or I am going to raise holy hell at my next neuro appointment.
Still don’t know all the details on my spine fracture...
This is killing me. I need to have an MRI, and they want me to wait till April 2nd to get one. Ugh. Also, my mother-in-law is a bitch, and blames me for my injury. More specifically, my weight. She also thinks I’ll be healed in a week. -__-
So even though my spine is still slowly bending out of shape, I'm pretty happy with it. Left side is before operation number 1, right side is after operation number 4.
Everything was going so well, but I guess I'm not gonna heal overnight. Time to lay still, ice my back and take a bunch of painkillers. I hate this so much.
