party talk: right before you go break the news to michelle. i wanted to post the party’s thoughts about whether or not eleven should tell her the truth or be honest with her. i feel like this provides a pretty good insight into everyone’s character since there isn’t a “right” answer morally speaking. (under the cut for length reasons)
Jade believes that telling her the truth is the right thing to do, she acknowledges that it’s hard, but she won’t even name any other option
rab’s speaking from experience, which, duh. he’s old, he’s seen far too many people he loves die for him to pretend otherwise, including his entire kingdom. he doesn’t directly say what eleven should do, but i think he’s trying to imply that the right thing to do would be telling her the truth (”and once someone’s gone, ye cannae bring them back” basically saying that her waiting for him won’t bring kai back from the dead)
sylvando’s goal is spreading joy and happiness to everyone he meets, so he’d much rather tell michelle a kind lie to try and make her happy, at least for a little while. but he also doesn’t discourage eleven from telling the truth, just advises him to try and soften the blow a little. although he throws in a joke at the end, he genuinely wants her to be happy. why tell her such a miserable truth if you don’t need to?
veronica is kind of in a similar camp with sylvando, but she seems to be the only one really advocating for lying. she really doesn’t want to be the one to break the bad news to her, and i think this really shows veronica’s more immature side.
meanwhile her sister is adamant that eleven should be honest with michelle. serena tries to put herself in michelle’s fins and says that closure is important, regardless of the pain it will bring. i think this really shows the difference in maturity between the two sisters. (honestly, the twins differing responses reminds me of what happens in act II between them, with serena being mislead to believe that veronica is still alive)
erik is also team honesty, but he does acknowledge that it sucks being the one to break the news, so he’ll understand if eleven chooses to do otherwise. i love that erik is a thief, but he’s honest whenever he can be. the last part is what really gets to me though. erik’s big thing is his loyalty and being faithful to the people he cares about. i’m sure he’s thinking about mia right here, erik would do anything for the people he cares about, so it would make sense for him to be thinking of mia right here, and how all he was able to do for her was abandon her in her golden state.
I think I might’ve enjoyed myself too much when I wrote all of their lines. Party chemistry is after all, the bread and butter for roleplaying games

"Yeah!"
"I use tumblr!"
"Oh what's your tumblr?"
"Oh, no, you shouldn't see that."
