Step 6: Argue about whether or not you did everything right in the end

How to Clean for Passover (in 10 Days or Less)

There’s a saying: “Passover cleaning is not spring cleaning, dirt is not chametz, and children are not the paschal sacrifice.”

This is soooo reassuring I was beginning to get obsessive about like, the cracks in my couch or floorboards but that isn’t necessary. Deep breaths. It’s seriously not as scary as I thought. Ein od milvado fr fr

Also after a year of making ramen, wow did I forget how much easier hardboiled eggs are to peel compared to softboiled.

Well, as far as timing goes, two weeks before Passover is probably the best time to get a new refrigerator. It’s basically forced Roommate-Wife and I to actually go through and get rid of all non-kosher-for-Passover foods. 

Except for my Flammin’ Hot Cheetos. 

If G-d wants me to get rid of my Flammin’ Hot Cheetos, then He can send the ghost of Moses to pry them out of my cold, dead-inside, hands!

Folks, pro tip:

Don't decide thirty minutes before sunset that yes, you are going to get all the chametz out of your house for Passover.

Especially when you've been basically living in a theatre for eight months before then.

Four very full trash bags later and one horrified "look at your life; look at your choices" when I discovered that food can indeed rot through plastic, and my flat is officially prepped for Passover.  And my fridge is also cleaned out, because once the fridge was open, there was no going back.

Just in time.  Sunset is in five minutes.
