“Jews and animals are not allowed”
This is a sign outside a hotel in Kyrgyzstan. It is 21 century.
I will never forget this core memory of public school: I believe I was in grade 3-5 so age 8-11 roughly. We had an assembly where we were told about the health consequences of stress. That it raises the risk of like every chronic disease, heart disease, diabetes, cancer. I came away absolutely terrified and also irritated because even at that age I recognized how counterproductive it was to make me aware of the toxic effect of stress on the body. Especially at an age when I had no clue how to process or deal with that fact, and no control over my life circumstances that might raise or lower my daily stress levels. Perhaps I am misremembering but this was very unfortunate for me, an already inexplicably neurotic child to integrate into my worldview.
unfortunately there will always be a soft spot in my heart for florida
I have to share this cus it was incredibly inspiring to me. I have been sporadically attending a Rosh Chodesh event where everyone sings Hallel. And last month, the hostess said something about how easy it was to learn the whole thing as a song. That it’s forever entrenched in her memory because she learned it that way.
And I mentioned that I didn’t know it but I just have been saying it in English while everyone else is singing the Hebrew.
Well I just got an email from her!!! she asked her sister to record it and sent me an audio file of her singing it all!! I am so grateful and it’s so cool that she remembered. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🤩🤩🤩 I can’t wait to learn it bezH
why is this same dishwasher powder $7 at walmart and $21 on amazon
I did check the quantities to make sure & it’s the same amount. Unless the one on Amazon is mislabeled and it’s actually a pack of multiple boxes
There’s this Reddit where people identify bugs. It’s so weird how they advocate for not having your house treated with pesticides or killing bugs you find. Like if you mention that you’re doing that in the sub you will be yelled at lol.
Someone was posting about the species of spider known as the most frequent source of indoor spider bites. Yellow sac spiders.
They’re like “we live with quite a few of these. I definitely get nibbled at every summer- but it’s great cus we don’t have any pests except maybe a few fruit flies”
Like. Helloooo??? Most pests don’t *bite* you. I can think of many pests I would rather live with than a spider that is biting me and my family ?? Also some I would prefer less …. But thats a silly thing to even argue because all pests can be taken care of. Some more easily than others, true. But I would never tolerate anything that’s predictably biting me.
We don’t have to live like this !! We have technology now. I know it’s not a perfect solution (everything has downsides) but in my opinion it is preferable to being bitten multiple times by spiders every year ?! Like if something is repeatedly biting you. In your own home. How is it not justified to take care of that problem smh I can’t. I can’t. You do you I guess
Who knows 30? I know 30!
My mom drew this 🦐 💙
Because.
I badly want to start saying “this is my Swarovski Shrek” to refer to any outrageously expensive yet ridiculous object I start coveting. If anyone says “what the fuck” and asks what I mean, well. It’s their lucky day to learn about Swarovski Shrek
Guess who I saw today
WHAT THE HELL THERE'S SO MANY??
who else here thinking about chicken strisps

School was canceled cus it’s too cold.
3 people have offered to bring us Shabbos food so we don’t have to go to the store , because we just returned home last night.
I love it here even though it’s so cold we have the type of warmth I used to think had gone extinct. And if I had to leave then I wouldn’t be able to add to it.
I told my brother this and he told me I was crazy for moving somewhere that “wants to kill me”
I get that they worry but , we have a warm house. And I wish they would understand why I love it here so much. Maybe one day they will
