Hello and happy month of Yule y’all! This month, I’m doing something just a bit different. I have for you what is easily my favorite city map so far! Here on Tumblr, you can see the Blank and Fantasy versions, but if you head over to my Ko-fi, you can find the Modern/Sci-fi version as well, and all three versions will be a slightly higher quality (though still available for free!) Telos Aer (or whatever you choose to rename it!) has been designed to work, like all my maps, in any setting and system, though originally was designed with a modern/sci-fi bent in mind.
Telos Aer is a city on the move, with the promise of riches for the clever and ambitious. It’s got everything a traveler, adventurer, runner, or regular person could want, as long as they’ve got the money to pay for it. Take the alleys and side streets in whatever direction you want, filling the city with opportunity or threat as you see fit for your game!
These maps were made using Dungeon Scrawl and GIMP for editing and the two here are 72ppi while those on Ko-fi are 120ppi. The blank map is 6650x5100 pixels and the labeled map is 6650x8150 pixels.
On a personal note, I’m planning on taking much of December off. I plan on posting at least one more chapter of The Library At the End of the World this month, but otherwise I’m going to rest and enjoy the holidays. If you’ve seen something you like in any of the work I’ve posted, please considering tossing a couple dollars my way on Ko-fi. Every dollar makes a huge difference to me and I’d be extremely grateful.
Have a wonderful December y’all, I’ll see you soon!
I’m experimenting with street view maps. Is this something people would be interested in seeing more of? Also, thoughts on having the building names on the map?
Hey! I saw the map thing and actually I need help! I have an Upper Underdark City, about 60,000 creatures in it. I gave it three inns already, a queen and a pawn shop. The Weeping Mother, Lloth’s Hand, Selvetarm’s Blade are the Inns. The pawn Shop is called The Greedy Time and is run by a human and her Mind Flayer Husband, Rul. It’s cool if you want to add more! The city is named Mytsalenor. And it’s cool if you decide you don’t wanna do it!
Mytsalenor - Underdark Enclave
Population: 60,000
Underground riches and daring adventures await any brave soul who wanders down to the Underdark city of Mytsalenor. The city is divided into terraces. The northwestern terrace holds the arcane district of the city. The northeastern is occupied by the craft folk, makers of all things mysterious but not quite magical. The grand terrace in the southwest is the property of the nobility, who live mainly in the 2nd terrace. The 1st grand terrace at its peak holds the fortress of the warrior queen Gibigith.
Adventures:
The Tower Fortress of Nandroth, on the western rim of the 2nd grand terrace, exudes magical power. A school of wizards have occupied the tower for centuries, but no one has seen anyone enter or leave the tower in over a hundred years. But recently, there's been rumor of a grand dinner planned, and citizens of Mytsakenor have been invited, seemingly at random. What could the lords and ladies of Nandroth possibly want with them?
I was wondering if I could request a D&D map?? I'm thinking of a unseelie fae village with like,, 100-200 people in the middle of a forest? There's a pond nearby and the village has a small town squade. I think that's it? Let me know if you need any details,, and thank you in advance!
Wanderfor - Den of Unseelie Fae
Population: 120
The fae don’t name their villages, but the humans living further to the east call this part of the wood “Wanderfor”, as a warning to travelers. The village exists in the space between the material world and the feywild, so one never knows for certain what they might find there.
Adventures:
While the fae don’t name their dwellings, they often have names for their water. Narebreth, the lake to the west of the village, is rumored to speak to anyone who sits long enough on its unnaturally still banks
The fae are fairly self-sufficient, but a clever adventurer may be able to strike a deal with them. If someone were to remove the truly hideous giant spiders plaguing Wanderfor, the fair folk would be willing to part with some magical artifacts. Purely out of gratitude, and not as payment for services rendered, of course.
Second fill for the map challenge! Hex and Grid versions under the cut.
Dorland is a sleepy coastal farm town on the coast of a small island. The residents don’t have much to worry about day-to-day, beyond the need to plant, prune and collect the harvest. But recently goblins have been raiding the outlying farms, and they seem to become bolder by the day. Who can put a stop to the goblins’ thieving ways?

The Isle of Tritendor and it’s sparsely populated neighbor Ilburn have lived under the watch of distant magic for centuries; that of the humming ruins on the eastern island and the mysterious western tower rumored to be inhabited by powerful spirits. Will the warnings of the locals prevent the newly arrived adventures from trying their luck and launching an expedition into the mountains for glory and treasure?
