? - Since yana sensei said that sons take after their mothers (like Edward and Francis) and daughters take after their father (like Lizzie and Alexis), do you think o!ciel takes after Rachel more than Vincent? By extension, do you think Rachel was as soft and kind as depicted in the manga or do you think she secretly follows the badass pattern like all the other women in kuro (Francis, Lizzie, Madame Red, Claudia, Ran Mao, Mey Rin, Sullivan, Ada, Jane, Beast, Doll, the questionable queen... ya get my drift :P)
❓ for a general Kuro question
I’ve talked about this some, but it might be hard to pin down with tags. Still, please do check out the topic tags below. #pattern of inheritance might be particularly useful.
According to Vincent, in “With Father”, the boys take more after their mother. He says the boys are cuter than he himself ever was at that age. Of course, it’s written in a way that makes it vague whether he’s talking about real Ciel, our earl, or both of them, since this was published before the final reveal that there were indeed twins.
Rachel was sweet and kind, but she was also smart and a disciplinarian. Her health was an issue, but she was a strong-willed woman, just like the blood-born Phantomhive women. This is probably something Vincent considered before he decided to ask her hand in marriage. And it’s also quite possible that her parents were already fellow “Aristocrats of Evil” or “Evil Nobles”. So, she might have known what she was getting herself into. I’d hate to think she was completely clueless about his watchdog duties; I don’t think she was. I like to think she even helped him from time to time, in whatever way she could. If he ever really dressed in drag for an assignment, I like to think she helped him dress! 😂
Vincent sometimes played the fool, but I don’t think he was one. Not at all. He loved his family, but love wasn’t the only thing that prompted his decisions.
