I accidentally killed King Charles by presenting him with fancy glassware I found at a pawnshop.
The Tales of Two Cities according to Stephi and Heiko - Part 556
It’s two days after Christmas and we hope that you had a great time (if you have been celebrating or not). A lot of people are meeting their families, often driving home for Christmas, meeting old friends there and probably eating and drinking a lot. And often meeting the families goes along with giving away presents for the loved ones, big or small. And often, you smile while getting a present but secretly your thoughts are along the way: what the heck were they thinking?
That’s when today’s topic comes into play. You can try to exchange the gift. But then you have to admit that you don’t like it. If you were brave enough to admit that you don’t like the present, shops can refuse to exchange the gift. Either way, yo get something out of your gift there are two possibilities left: you either gift it to someone else or you bring it to a pawnshop.
The first picture shows a pawnshop from Munich, the second picture a shop from Cologne. Honestly, I was even aware of a pawn shop in Cologne until a couple of weeks ago.
Did you get presents for Christmas or not? (I know some of you no longer follow that path.) And if you got a present, did you like it?
