And just like that, his new world had changed again...
A little over 24 hours had passed since the miraculous shift in landscape, transforming the city from a monster-ridden hell hole into a picturesque, diverse wonderland.
Ever the suspicious one however, Gyro didn’t trust it for a moment. Not the spotless streets, or the cute shops, or the beautiful cherry blossom trees---no. Not a damn thing here was going to change his mind that this place was suspect as shit.
The real problem was though, that...so far, nothing, not one thing appeared out of place. No strange illusions to peel back, no more of that floating girl in the sky, nothing. It was as if the city of Spirale has always been this way, as if this were just another lazy, luxurious day in a timely march of many before it.
There was no other way to cut it; the whole place seemed perfect.
After prowling the streets the night before, Gyro had finally visited his “new home,” a nice apartment in the Golden Ward to drop off his things and finally freshen up. Its just temporary, he tells himself, refusing to sink into the comfortable bed just yet; time to continue his “investigation” despite his slowly growing exhaustion.
Its Cotes Ward Gyro finds himself in now, under the good suggestion of more than a handful of passersby. It was spoken of pretty enthusiastically in the pamphlet he’d found [neatly nestled on his pillow, as if placed there almost lovingly---gross] as well.
“Lake of the Koi...this must be it,” the cowboy grunts to himself, shoving the pamphlet in his belt pouch as the water’s edge comes into view. It was then that he realizes with a start that he’s not alone, spotting what appears to be a young blonde girl in a school uniform a little ways away from him.
