Thinking about a peacock hybrid- in this world peafowl hybrids are known for their striking beauty and culture. With the males of course taking the spotlight for their vibrantly coloured feathers.
The brighter the better. That's how the beauty standard is in avian society, the sentiment was especially seen in peafolk culture.
But imagine a peacock with no beautiful colours, no glimmering feathers, no chance of beating the competition..
𝐈... 𝐈𝐈..
Tall tiled walls encrusted with gold, enamel and gems to display ornate patterns of all that was beautiful and bright, shimmering and glowing under the flickering candle light like stars, a kaleidoscope of colours dancing across him and the marble floor beneath his feet. The detailed pattern was lost on him, the intricacies were blurred, all his eyes could catch was the hues of red, blues and greens. There was so, so much colour. It was definitely not a sight for sore eyes.
The music, he could make make out the sweet melody over the rhythmic clicking of feet, hushed words and the jingle of bangles and anklets. Everyone seemed to be having the time of ther lives, each direction he looked he could make out graceful movements and impressed smiles and praise.
He stood out like a sore thumb.
It wasn't that he couldn't dance, that he lacked charm, lacked an angelic voice, it wasn't beauty that he lacked- it was the bronze tone to his skin, the iridescent sheen to his hair, the vivid hue to his eyes that others could get lost in. He was colourless, beautiful?Definitely, but not the standard. It didn't matter how graceful his movements were, how sweetly he sang, he just didn't have the radiance of the other peacocks. It wasn't a particularly sore spot for him, just an unfortunate fact.
The temptation to flee the banquet hall, to hide out somewhere where the beauty of the bright and radiant couldn't mock him, where the flickers of colour and light couldn't burn his eyes. He turned around, fully intent with his decision find a dull hall or corner to soothe the ache in his skull- outside maybe? Yes, outside seemed like the best option, with just the moon to indulge his senses. An obstacle stood between him and relief.
You.
You stood infront of him, looking at him- he could feel the burning intensity of your gaze as your eyes looked him up and down, appreciating how the hues of flickering colour danced across his pale hair and glimmered in his lilac eyes.
He opened his mouth to say something, maybe to tell you to move, or ask what you're staring at. You beat him to it before he could even muster a sound.
"You're beautiful"
He knew that, he just didn't expect you to get straight to the point. He fluttered his lashes, trying to blink away the haze as he tried focused on you, though unable to make out the exact angles and curves of your features, he could tell you were smiling.
A small, coy smile spread across his features. He preened at the attention, absorbing your praise like a flower to water, tilting his head sideways as he held your gaze. "I know"
Is this how the other dancers felt? When after a performance, particularly interested guests lathered them in praise and attention. He never really got to enjoy those ego-inflating moments, the after parties were often too bright, he found himself retiring too early to really grab his share of flattery.
He could make out how your smile seemed to grow wider at his reaction. He glanced around- not that he could make out anything, everything blurred into one vibrant mass of continuous movement and sound, that alone showed him the party would be fine without him, he shifted his focus back to you.
"Would you like to join me outside?" He asks with a voice laced with fatigue and that same coy smile. Maybe tonight he'd get his share of flattery. To his delight, you nodded.

I like him, should I elaborate more on him? Would anyone be interested in that?

Also please tell me if my attempt at an albino character is in anyway offensive, inaccurate or disrespectful! I'll make changes immediately!
