Despite being essentially colleagues, they found themselves drawn together naturally. Mumbo loved the care Pearl takes for the moon. She makes sure the moon shines brightly even when hidden by clouds. Pearl loves the colours Mumbo paints through the darkness, even if most people don't appreciate it. Then they started to work together, to make the night sky as pretty as their love.

OK so this might sound a little crazy (idk), but hear me out:

Pearlbo with a side appearance of sky siblings

Grian of course loves his sister, but if anything were to go wrong, who's side would he pick? His best friend of several years whom he was literally inseparable from or his literal sister who he'd known since forever-?

Pearl just laughs and assures him that everything is fine and nothing is gonna go wrong, and Jimmy went with Mumbo to get Pearl flowers (he needed the extra hands-)

Pearl and Mumbo are both adults! Even if they did break up in the future, it would likely be on amicable terms. Not that they have any plans to! It's just Pearl's way of reminding Grian he's worrying himself over nothing.

Plus, of they get married, that would make Mumbo Grian's brother-in-law, and that's pretty cool, right? And how couldn't Pearl fall for the guy willing to fill her room with flowers!
