The New People I Met At Snark
In a situation like Snark, you meet literally hundreds of people in a matter of hours. It's hard to talk to everyone, decide if you like them, get to know them, etc. Particularly if you're an introvert like me.
But there were a lot of new people I met, and being an observer, I made some mental notes. I hope that doesn't creep anyone out, but that's what I do in social situations if I'm overwhelmed. People were great, and I felt the love the moment I walked into that place.
Jillzey: An awesome woman, sweet, nice, loves to laugh. Didn't get a chance to talk to her much.
Greentanktop: Another woman I didn't get to talk to much. She was nice.
pearlschmutz: Funny, sweet, nice. She became my bud. I was impressed enough by her to write her name twice in my memo file. (Scotch)
iamjenn2: I only talked to her briefly for a few seconds, but she was very funny.
jamarcucci: Hysterically funny, and made everyone around her immediately feel safe and relaxed and laughing. And she showed me her boobs. :)
dariennelake: A wonderful woman. She literally sparkled the moment she walked into the room. The party had officially started when she arrived.
Sinxo: I only talked to her for a few seconds, enough to realize who she was, and to introduce myself.
impeccablepeccadillo: Funnily, when I first met her, I wrote her name in my memopad, but misspelled it, so I spent almost all Sunday trying to remember how to spell it. I don't remember if I spoke to her at all (Scotch)
marienotmaria: I accidentally breathed scotch-breath (Scotch) into her face. I think I offended her. For that, I apologize.
elongrad1997: A beautiful woman whom I would sneak peeks at if I didn't think she was watching. I could only manage the courage to speak to her for a few seconds. (courage=Scotch)
titsandsass: She was at the last Snark in August, but somehow, we didn't get to talk very much, if at all. Talking to her Saturday, I was so drunk and nerdy and I thought she had dismissed me. But she was funny, and I fell in love with her all over again.
raysporch: I didn't think this guy was going to make it, but I'm so glad he did, because we nerds/geeks need to stick together.
hiimles: I didn't get to talk to him much, because of women and scotch. More's the pity.
palomaloma: I didn't recognize her at first, but she pulled out her name tag, and I yelled out her name ("Palomaloma!") at the top of my lungs. She was at the last Snark, but I didn't know her then.
itsmejillian: She was also at the last Snark, but I didn't know her then. Another one when our eyes met, we yelled out each other's names. LOL
notwhatihadinmind: Don't let her photographs fool you like they did me: She's so tiny, I could hold her in the palm of my hand. She was sweet, nice, and sexy.
ruthakers: She would hate me forever for saying this I suspect, but she was sweet, nice, and (of course) self-deprecating. She took my stupid fan-boy questions and comments with the humor we've come to expect from her.
My thanks to sarcastickunt for putting this event together.
My thanks to roughdiction for walking with me to the event venue.
My thanks to goodybrains, sweetheatherbee, therealcherilyn, itsmejillian, ch8rming, and raysporch for making me feel like I matter and for reasons, but mostly for making me laugh. They know why. When I made it home Sunday afternoon, my face hurt from laughing so much.
My thanks to everyone who was there for making a complete nerd for feeling welcome, being lovely, sexy, and everything else that you all are. You guys ROCK.
And what was the deal with the woman wearing the lobster claws?
