grr that’s it im making a pen analysis since i have no patience and I NEED people need to UNDERSTAND HIM!!!!!!

Okay okay okay, ONE thing ive noticed about the osc is that they really just see pen as a silly guy. Don’t get me wrong that’s TRUE!!! buuuut let’s be real here, HE ISNT. HE REALLY ISNT. And we can understand that by understanding his interactions and friendship with his buddies and himself.
I think BFDI is a good place to get an idea of how his friendship works and how it slowly changed and crumbled. Pen’s friends as we all know it were blocky and eraser (maybe sb but let’s be so fr) and honestly this is probably the season where their friendship was at its peak. The way how pen treats his friends isn’t the same way they do to him. It’s like a small crack in their relationship in BFDI but that crack has grown deeply. In BFDI it’s okay though. It’s like pen cares for them equally but they don’t give that same treatment to him. Throughout BFDI pen has defended blocky in elimination times. But we don’t really see blocky and eraser doing the same thing!!! It’s kinda unfair and it shows how deeply it affects him.
Now onto BFDIA and IDFB.
now in BFDIA and IDFB they are all stuck in a confined space for YEARS!!!! (pencil dw pen relates) and they somehow do interact but on screen it’s like the whole LOL is fighting sometimes. And during the LOL hosting in BFDIA 13-14 pen is somewhat paranoid?? He genuinely got so anxious and scared while trying to crank the LOL away. And honestly it’s weird how they are only used for hosting and not seeing characters talk and chill.
OHHH BOY NOW BFB. (I WILL HAVE A RANT INCOMING)
This is where the train of everyone leaving him starts. Something that I mentioned about the crack that will get worse between their friendship is the way they see pen. Pen clearly cares about his bros A LOT. But does blocky care?! does eraser care?! I’ll tell you the answer,
NO!
THEY DONT GIVE A CRAP! And if ya think ‘oh they do!’ THEN WHY DID BLOCKY LEAVE HIM FOR FUNNY DOINGS INSTEAD OF HIS BUDDY? WHY DID ERASER LEAVE HIM FOR FOOD? ITS CAUSE THEY GENUINELY DONT CARE AS MUCH AS PEN DOES! ITS LIKE PEN IS THE ONE HOLDING THEIR FRIENDSHIP!
and that’s what exactly happens. It’s just pen doing his best. And when they leave him he’s all alone. And here’s where I bring up my theory about pen having SAD (separation anxiety disorder) and abandonment issues. I’ll explain them separately.
SEPARATION ANXIETY DISORDER:- pen gets anxious whenever he’s left alone. This is shown multiple times throughout the whole show, from BFB 1 to even TPOT 2 and every elimination. This gets triggered whenever he’s left alone or whenever his friends leave him.
ABANDONMENT ISSUES:- pen HAS BEEN ABANDONED by his friends not once, nor twice BUT MULTIPLE TIMES. They left him for other things that made him feel like this and made him feel like a burden. His separation anxiety also contributes to this, eliminations very hard and WORSE FOR HIM.
WHEN THEY LEAVE HIM IT ADDS TO HIS PROBLEMS AND MAKES HIM FEEL LIKE HES THE REASON THEY MIGHT NOT LIKE HIM OR LEFT HIM! ESPECIALLY SINCE THEY’VE BEEN TOGETHER WHEN HE WAS EXTRA PARANOID.
AND HERES WHERE TPOT COMES IN

In tpot 1, pen asked where blocky went. He left them. Pen left death pact to go to eraser. eraser didn’t even think about going to pen at all. Then eraser went for teardrop while leaving pen, which is already too much for his anxiety in a few episodes already. Then he’s just getting pushed away from them both practically. then team swap. THATS THE ONLY TIME HIS OWN “FRIEND” PAYS ATTENTION TO HIM. AS IF HES A SECOND CHOICE. Then he was good friends with needy, UNTIL SHE GOT OUT.
it’s too much for him and his anxiety and issues, that’s enough, right?
WRONG!!!
AFTER THAT, LIY AND BITTLE ARE WITH HIM BUT HES JUST GONNA THINK THAT HES A BURDEN TO THEM AND HES GONNA BE THE REASON WHY THEY MIGHT LEAVE HIM EVEN THOUGH HE DOES THE CHALLENGES AND THE REST BARELY DO ANYTHING!!!!! AND ALL OF THAT COMBINED INTO ONE WHOLE THING MAKES HIM SO JUMPY AND ANXIOUS. ‘ohhh but he missed sb and didn’t get sad in his eliminat-‘ YES HE WAS SAD WHEN THE FATTIE WAS SCREAMING.
but what jnj does is they make it for only one character to talk to him, which is grassy as if pen didn’t exist to sb. Thats the problem. his friends always leave him and he thinks it’s his fault. and blames himself.
In the scene where he was talking to pencil, he was talking about letting go of your old friends WHEN HE CANT HIMSELF. HES STILL STRUGGLING!! HE STILL CANT LET GO. CAUSE HE STILL CARES
all I can say now is, pen is a deeply complex character when you really see it. I’ll edit this later and see any mistakes and I’ll add stuff later. He’s slowly crumbling every episode we see him and people completely ignore it and how he really is. Hopefully he gets better (WORSE) and jnj better not ruin his arc, cause with with the pencil and pen situation in tpot 16, it kinda make sense a bit. and they just acted like pen wasn’t finally interacting with sb in a long time in sb’s elimination.
