I have never been a fan of when an artist leaves the pencil lines peeping through. To me they ruin the experience of the viewer, disturbing my painted reality. My earliest memory of this is when I was 8 years old in grade 3 my teacher thought I was done my work of art but I told her I wasn’t because the pesky lines were still poking through. She guffawed and said I was such a perfectionist. I told her people who can’t paint, teach. Just kidding I was far too shy of a kid to even come up with such a thing.
