“This party is important because I have it on very good authority…” Benedict leans in towards the camera, smirking and wiggling his brows up and down slyly. “... Insider knowledge, if you will, that a certain someone will be getting a promotion tomorrow!”
“If by insider knowledge, you mean your sister Daphne. Who was tipsy and let slip at dinner the other night that a senior at our branch was going to be promoted.” Sophie mutters flatly, looking down at the notes on her clipboard.
“That,” Benedict says, pointing behind him to Sophie, “Does not undercut how very earned this promotion will be. Just because my parents founded the company, and my brother is the CFO, and my sister is our branch's London liaison—"
“And half the employees here are your relatives…” Sophie murmurs under her breath, but the boom mic picks up on it, “It’s bloody nepotism central here.”
“You, shhh! Zip it.”
