Talaromyces marneffei is a species of fungi responsible for causing the disease talaromycosis aka penicilliosis. It generally only infects individuals with weakened immune systems, such as those with HIV/AIDS, cancer, or an autoimmune disease.

Mycophenolic acid is made from mycophenolate, which is obtained from molds in the Penicillium genus.
