still on it! since i'm posting late, have them all together, pfft.
for day six - this is jean-louie polnareff! one of the characters in pyrite providence, the same story as magpie magpie comes from! in fact, she and them are why jean-louie got drawn for this prompt at all :) she spent years and years trying to find who stole her family heirloom when she was 14, shaping herself into the kind of person who could, only to find out that magpie magpie (who had also been only 14 at the time) didn't even remember her face. they are tied together by fate and keep strangling each other with the rope, even if it's unintenional from one half and perhaps too much by the other.
day seven - an oc i haven't settled on a name for yet, but i'm very attached to him regardless! a tatsu that got taken away from his river, he spends years aimless and bitter, stuck in the circus that imprisoned him with a ringmaster who keeps the last drops of said river contained and away from him. but after meeting josie kujo, he finds purpose again; devoting himself to it with all he has, and looking into the future with the hope to find something akin to a home again.
day eight - 7 of my magpies!
closeup cause there's a lot of them and tumblr is finicky about quality, haha- so!
1 - peperone! an outlier in how the family generally tends to roll, she put distance between herself and them in an attempt to carve out a legacy for herself that no one's had before. but finding something so unique is a big challenge, and peperone has trouble taking chances and opportunities, not realizing that sometimes you have to snatch them, rather than let them roll to you. (but in her attempts to figure out her stand [CANDY-O], she might learn just that!)
2 - magpie magpie! mischevious and opportunistic, they use their stand [WHEEL OF FATE] (which alters the luck of one person to be good... or bad!) a lot, including pre-canon making a name for themself as "lady luck's favorite" at a local casino! but that fell apart after they met their now-blood brother samuel saturn, and they ended up in other ventures, eventually learning how to be less selfish, among other things!
3 - focaccia! he's a now single dad in his forties who would do anything for his daughter, velocity. tired, jaded, and an ex passione member who left sometime after giorno became don. he split up with his partner in crime and life leanne vincent after their daughter's stand caused her to get hurt, and he realized that for both of them to be safe, she couldn't be around her. so, promising to make sure their kid had as close to a normal life as she could, they split up. now he works a lot of odd-end jobs, keeping a lot of distance from the family due to not wanting to get wrapped up back in crime, even if his stand [VILLAIN I APPEAR] is perfect for it. it works by making the perfect conditions for a heist appear, though it's all up to focaccia to execute it as such. nowadays, of course, it doesn't get any action.
4 - velocity "raptor" magpie! focaccia's daughter, she's a chipper, hyper kid who's quickly had to figure out her volatile stand. [RISK RISK RISK!] (or just [RISK3]) flips probability on its head, making the least likely thing to always happen, and thus making velocity's life one that has to be filled with danger in order to keep her safe. a grenade in her bag or rollerskating everywhere (she doesn't know how to rollerskate) is a must for her. despite this, she and her stand are always up to making new friends, helping where she can, and having fun as a 15 year old should :) ...even if she gets involved in things she shouldn't sometimes
5 - mckenzie magpie! he's the self-designated investigator behind any deaths in the family that seem to be foul play, and thus is almost always on the move, though when he's not, he's fishing back home in australia. the eldest of 3 siblings, he first had to investigate his brother's (the youngest of them) death at 20, when he was murdered at 17. now 28, grumpy and uptight, he keeps his distance from his sister in the fears he'll lose her too. his stand has two parts to it. [MOUNTAIN ROAD] lets him turn anything into a pocket dimension, while [SILVER SPEAR] is a scroll-esque semi-talkative creature which catalogues all of it, as well as being able to swallow things that then turn into illustrations on it. oftentimes, it's [SILVER SPEAR] that convinces mckenzie to go to family reunions to catch up.
6 - clark magpie! a social person, she's also lost her youngest sibling thanks to a family curse.* despite that, she keeps an optimistic outlook on life, not letting the grief guide her. adores her daughter mosca, to the point where it reflects on her stand. her stand is a little object stand, a purse shaped like a mouse which, when things are placed in them, it begins to replicate them. always willing to stand up and go to bat for those she holds close, and won't back down til the best outcome is guaranteed. also, likes collecting novelty shot glasses. :)
7 - monday magpie! tricky and good at planning from escape plans to domino set building, she's very happy in her life. wonderful partner eric rockferry-magpie, three kids she adores, it's like there's nothing that could go wrong for her. in truth, if it were to, it'd be delayed; her stand [TRANSPOSE] pushes bad luck away into the future so she'll only have to deal with it later, and she relishes the extra time it gives her, using it wisely. her youngest child muse is, however, a product of this, though she doesn't see her kid as bad luck at all, despite the fact of who the father is. (her spouse is well aware, too; but they had an open relationship back then, and all was, and is, great.)
...who is muse's dad, you might ask? well. i'm talking about monday so you'll have to wait on it >:)** monday is the only stand user out of her spouse and kids (besides muse), and makes sure that they know how to stay safe and hopefully stay out of stand bullshit.
so, why did i go with such a big piece with so many ocs in it? well!! as i've worked on and made magpies, i've been pleasantly surprised at my ability to make them all so distinct and stand out from each other, so i wanted to celebrate that! i hope you enjoyed reading about them :) *i'll talk about this more at some other point but it is a plot point for several family branches of the magpies that if three siblings are born and only one has a stand, something terrible will happen to the youngest.
