Prince Cuthbert: Can you please stop putting raisins in foods that would otherwise taste good? Pepper: But, your highness- Jester, interrupting: Your majesty, you are being unraisinable.
Jane and the Dragon characters + watching horror movies/shows.
Jane: She has a strong stomach, but anything with excessive gore, torture, or based off of a true story is an instant nope! from her. She's the kind of person to yell at the screen when the characters make dumb decisions and say what she would have done in their place. She absolutely screams at jumpscares.
Dragon: Cares very little for human forms of entertainment. He's just here for the popcorn.
Gunther: Similar to Jane, he'd insist that he could survive a horror movie no matter the circumstances while watching, and also insist he's not scared (he is scared). He avoids anything where child abuse is a factor in the plot.
Smithy: Thinks overly violent horror movies are dumb and basically never watches them. I feel as if he would be rather intrigued by some forms of psychological horror for some reason. He can handle seeing fictional people get hurt, but if an animal is hurt/killed, it's over for him.
Jester: Prefers psychological horror to other kinds of horror, and is also prone to screaming/yelping during a jumpscare. He also sometimes laughs at inappropriate times during the movie, probably to diffuse tension.
Pepper: Mild doses of horror are the most she can stomach. Anything else, she has her hands over her eyes or is obsessively making more popcorn to avoid watching. "Tell me what's happening! Wait no, don't!"
Rake: Has an even lower horror tolerance than Pepper. Can only watch horror stuff if he's not alone and has something like a comforting blanket wrapped around his shoulders. Even then, he probably won't be able to stick around for a whole movie.
Lavinia: Can we have a birthday cake? Pepper: It's not your birthday. Lavinia: The cake won't know.
*modern au* Pepper, texting Jane: I sent Rake a cute selfie and he still hasn't responded, I know he's seen it :( Rake, also texting Jane at the exact same time: Jane help quick how do you spell gorjus? Gorgous? Help you know what I'm talking about-
Lavinia: Do we have strawberries? Pepper: no, we’re out. Lavinia: Terrible! How is this castle a home without strawberries in it?
Three random modern au headcanons because why not:
-Jane’s phone screen is never not cracked. As soon as she fixes it or gets a new phone, boom it’s cracked again. Her phone case is unbelievably beat up.
-Smithy has social media accounts, but never posts anything ever. He uses it to stay in touch with his friends and that’s it
-Everything Pepper owns is covered in stickers. Her phone has like a thousand charms on it.
Jane: I decided to write my human friends little notes to tell them how much I love about and care about them. I hid them, so it will surprise them.
Smithy: *pulls an ash-covered stack of papers out of the forge* Huh?
Rake, finding papers coated in dirt behind a row of plants: What?
Gunther, finding paper in his armor: Who-?
Pepper, jumping backwards and yelping at the sudden burst of unusually strong flames as she starts the kitchen fire: Who put these papers here? Why are there so many?
Jester, finding neatly folded paper tucked inside one of his instruments: This is a surprise from Jane, isn't it?
