Some of my Percabeth as Demigod Foster-Parent Headcanons (this ended up being way longer than I intended oops)
Annabeth kept clothes from all their bio kids’ stages of life, so they’ve got everything from preemie onesies to outfits for 16-year-olds.
They have a cupboard that’s always fully stocked with formula and baby/infant food. No matter what, they want to be ready.
Percy, who worked full-time as a firefighter paramedic through his 20s, and has done it part-time/as-needed ever since, is incredibly skilled with newborns. So if a demigod baby ends up on their doorstep, he knows what to do. He can assess vitals, get their APGAR score, treat immediate concerns, and decide if the baby can wait for a doctor’s visit the next day or needs to go to the hospital right away. He’s got a full med kit in his car and at home, just in case.
They’re also registered as a designated safe haven house through Percy’s fire station. If a baby is dropped off at the station and cleared at the hospital, Percy and Annabeth are often the ones who bring them home and care for them until adoption or a longer-term placement is arranged.
They keep a crib in their room at all times, even when they don’t currently have a baby. They want to be ready. And honestly… they just like having it there. It comforts them—reminds them of when they were raising their own little ones.
Percy and Annabeth don’t treat it like a “take it or leave it” situation. They know—especially Annabeth—how complicated it can be for mortal parents to come to terms with raising a demigod child. It’s a huge adjustment. Especially if the mortal is a father, who didn’t have nine months to prepare emotionally, practically, or financially. So if the parent seems unsure but wants to do right by their child, Percy and Annabeth will obviously keep it. They’ll care for the baby or child while the parent takes time to figure things out. They don’t start looking for permanent placement unless the bio parent is truly certain they don’t want to be involved. And even then—if a week, a month, or even a year later that parent comes back and says they’re ready? Absolutely. Of course they can take their child back. Percy and Annabeth will even help walk them through it—feeding, soothing, handling powers, whatever. Their door is always open for parenting help. No judgment. No expiration date.
If they take in an older kid or teen, the first thing they always do is offer to make them their favorite meal. Whatever it is. And if they don’t know how to make it? They’ll find a recipe, figure it out, and do their best.
Even though Percy and Annabeth are in their 60s/70s, they don’t look it or act like it. Most people think they’re still in their early to mid 50s. Maybe it’s demigod aging, maybe it’s from nectar and ambrosia, maybe it’s how fit and healthy they are, who knows. But whenever they tell their foster kids how old they actually are, and that they even have grandchildren from their oldest kids, the foster kids are always shocked.
If it looks like a child will be staying more than a few months, Annabeth immediately gets to work designing their room or space. Whatever the kid wants. Race car bed? Done. Bookshelf that doubles as a secret hideout? Absolutely. She’ll even build a nightstand with cupholders if that’s what makes them feel more at home.
Whenever their bio kids are home, they treat the foster kids like little siblings. No awkwardness, no distance. They bring them into the fold, take them out for fun, help them feel like part of the family, etc.
Family dinners. Every night. Whether it's sitting at the kitchen table or crowding in front of the TV on couches and bing bags and blankets.
If the child is old enough—even if they’re just four or five—Percy and Annabeth start teaching them how to fight and defend themselves right away. They aren't trying to scare them, but just teach them enough so they can hold their own against a monster. Percy and Annabeth get each kid their own weapon, depending on what they feel the most confident using. If they’re really young, Tyson and Annabeth work together to design something special. Like a ladybug pen that turns into a tiny spear, or a teddy bear that turns into a shield. Whatever makes them feel both capable and safe.
Percy's got "monster radar" dad instincts. If a kid flinches at a weird sound or feels a monster nearby, Percy's already alert, sword in hand, checking the perimeter. He’ll tell them, “You did good noticing that,” and show them how to listen for threats and get ready to fight without panicking.
Annabeth makes personalized baby blankets for each kid they take in. Even if the baby only stays for a few weeks, she sends it with them when they go.
If a kid doesn’t know their birthday or doesn’t want to celebrate, they get a “Gotcha Day” instead—the day they moved in or got dropped off. They get cake, presents, the works.
Percy is the master of midnight snacks. If a kid can’t sleep, they’ll find him already in the kitchen with two mugs of hot cocoa and a sleeve of Oreos. He acts like it’s totally normal, like he couldn’t sleep either, even if he was 100% asleep two minutes ago.
Annabeth keeps a photo album that’s just pictures of every baby/kid they’ve helped. There are sticky notes on some pages: “He went back to mom!” or “Adopted by a super sweet couple in Boston!”
Those AUs where Percy forgets Annabeth when Hera wipes his memory are evil and I love them so does anyone have any headcanons over how that goes?
I personally think the water would like love her subconsciously, and that he would leave the small of his back exposed around her without realizing it just because his body remembers trusting her so much.
While Annabeth is getting her degree at the university of New Rome in engineering, Percy balances two jobs; a swim instructor for kids and a tour guide at the aquarium.
He’s been meaning to go back to school eventually to get a degree in marine biology, but he hasn’t even gotten his GED. But, it’s okay. He’s got the rest of his life to get that sorted, and swimming all day is morning fun anyways.

Hi my friend!! 💙 These are amazing asks, in part because I have SO many that it's actually really hard to choose, and once I get going I never shut up, lol.
But here are a few (sfw, lol, I have others that are much more adult!):
I LOVE the idea of Percy being a stay-at-home-dad/author/career-bouncer, probably because a) I love literally all the headcanons people have about possible careers for him (marine biologist, social worker, teacher, author, firefighter, pro athlete, etc) and I can't pick one, lol, and b) I think that Percy's biggest goal/ambition for his future is to have a happy, healthy family with Annabeth. I think he'd be absolutely thrilled by the idea of her being the career woman while he cares for/protects/raises the kiddos and the home! We know Percy has a real respect for the power of the hearth, and the love found there, so I think he'd find a lot of meaning in being a stay-at-home-dad!
I also think that, once they are done with college in New Rome, they probably eventually move back to the East Coast. I just can't see them staying physically closer to Annabeth's family than Percy's, and CHB and NYC are home to them both in a really real way. Plus, how can the Architect of Olympus keep up with the work all the way in Cali? So I think they come back and build a life for themselves in the NYC area, and babysit Estelle all the time as practice for having their own kids. 😌
And the last one I'll share is that I do think they have kids! I know some folks on here have discussed how ridiculous and unsafe and silly it might be for them to have kids, but my stance on that is that it is, frankly, always ridiculous and unsafe to have kids, mortal or immortal, real or fictional, lol, and that the only reason anyone should have them is because they desperately want them - and will love them unconditionally. Percy and Annabeth have both mentioned the idea of sons and daughters at multiple points throughout canon, so I think that becomes a topic of serious conversation and planning as they get older! But the basic instinct is there for them, and it isn't for everyone, so I do think they act on it. I think Percy is a pretty natural parent, and Annabeth a little more anxious, but I think they both find joy and exhaustion and meaning in parenthood.

Percy totally runs an aquarium and also teaches people, he's the best with the animals, he's an expert called all over the world to care for hurt sea creatures
Annabeth is a premier architect, very well loved and gets quite a bit of work, she helped make Percy's aquarium and it's stunning.
The two of them are very much Public with their Affection. It makes people flustered to watch at times, and scares people other times when they're flirting while tearing people apart (verbally or physically)
They become parents of Camp Half-blood basically, watching out for everyone and trying to minimize the quests people have to go on.
Campers want quests you see, but Percy and Annabeth advocate strongly for them to not go on them until at least 16, and passing a test to prove they're capable.
Percy uses his work around the globe to do quests that *have* to be done, but honestly there aren't a huge number of This Has To Be Done Now quests, most quests are given at children request or cause the Gods like screwing with the person
The two of them are great teachers, and care for all the kids, but don't have an actual birth child of their own.
They adopt at least two demigods thrown out of their families, so do have that
They're actually kinda chill with the Gods as they get older, the Gods learned and improved despite Rick's canon, they became better and did better by their kids, and gave Percy and Annabeth info on stuff interesting to them
They're kinda friends with Apollo, he's fun, likes to stop by and show off healing stuff, or music, or basically anything interesting
Hermes is with him half the time, he and Annabeth made up years ago so they get along fine
Athena is... Awkward to say the least, she does her best to make up for things tho
Poseidon loves popping in, he sometimes jokes about giving Percy a sibling, Percy picks up Estelle and tells him he has one
Poseidon was very Awkward admitting to the time he spent with both Sally and Paul that ended in Estelle's conception, Percy did not need to know so much about his parents life
Percy and Annabeth genuinely enjoy life as they get older tho, they're powerful enough that most monsters leave them the hell alone and most major threats have already been handled otherwise
The Gods have improved and the camps are safe, they're living a good life, doing good and having fun
