You know what I think will be hilarious? If Shane’s type in men is the exact opposite (at least in terms of looks) as Ilya. However Ilya’s hockey skills are so superior that they transcend his usual filter and Shane’s enamoured from his gameplay before even seeing how he looks like. Once Ilya find out about this he’s never going to worry about Shane liking someone else cause he already bagged the second (okay first…sometimes) best hockey player and they’re husbands.

I need more Ilya out freaking other players when they chirp about his relationship. Some hockey player says "you're just Hollander's little bitch" and he answers "yes we have leash and collar with my name" in such a straight face no one can tell if it's a joke or if he's serious. Or he makes a goal and someone says "does he reward you for being good later" and he says "yeah I'm only allowed to cum when I score".

I mght actually end up writing this if I can figure out better/more examples.

kinda feel like Ilya letting “Shane” slip out during the tuna melt sex scene was a result of Ilya letting himself moan Shane’s name during his jacking off seshs and he had gotten a little too comfortable letting it slip out whereas when Shane says Ilya’s name back it’s because it had never occurred to him he could say just Ilya’s name out loud so he tries it out and then it felt so good he spooked himself like a horse

Truly feel like Ilya would want to soft launch asap and would be trying to low key drop subtle little hints (blowing kisses at the camera when asked if he had a message for his rival, deliberately getting bits of Shane in photos he posts, wearing the plaid shirt or even Metros merch he stole) and everything would be written off by fans and press as ragebaiting. He is trying to live his best and truest loverboy life but the ragebaiter reputation haunts him

Shane does not want anyone to suspect and is accidentally way more sus and obvious because of it. We see it in his hotel room with Hayden. My cringefail doesn't lie to his parents boy is way more likely to give the game away to his horror, while Ilya can try to declare his love on tv and get laughed off

remember the scene where Percy almost let’s himself die during the whole polyblotes fight under water cause he feels guilty about akhyls and opens up to Jason and Jason’s just like yeah i get it :( So what if Percy genuinely thought this was an issue and that Jason needed help? So he hunts down Piper first and is like

Percy: You need to look out for you bf

Piper: Wait why what happened?

Percy (trying to respect Jason’s privacy): He said some pretty concerning things

Then it slowly becomes a whole thing until they all decide to stage an intervention so when Jason wakes up late and sees all their solemn looks (and the fact that he’s not the earliest to be awake for once) he’s just like

Jason: Who died

No one speaks and Jason gets more frantic until-

Percy: We’re here to help you

Jason:???

Piper: We all love you and want you to be here

Jason: wtf is going on

And then everyone turns to Percy in confusion who’s trying to avoid talking about his whole breakdown in the first place so he’s like um.. well…

That’s how Percy finds out Jason is a drama queen who exaggerates

So I actually ended up writing the fic if any of yall want to read it!! (ignore the fact that its months late)

thinking abt tlt, som, and ttc era percy

percy who's still struggling to find his footing at camp, and every single time during those first three prophecies, he's seen as the outcast, and never once brought into the fold until he comes back after finishing the prophecy.

there's always something that pushes him to the outskirts, something that gives the other campers fodder to make fun of him or completely ignore him.

he thinks he's found his place after the minotaur? nope, turns out everyone sees him as a bad omen and he doesn't make any friends because the entire camp refuses to be around him.

he thinks he's found his place after lighting thief? restoring zeus' bolt? NOPE he finds out tyson is a cyclopes and his brother and now one of his closest friends + the campers are icing him out and grover's not around.

he thinks he's found his place after sea of monsters? restored thalia's tree and hey, now he's got a cousin? NOPE he's pushed aside in favor of her by the campers and chiron and is seen as incompetent and his best friend has been kidnapped and he's being blamed.

rereading those first three books now is so painful, because the way percy gets treated by the camp hurts so much, because literally all he wants is to be accepted by this group of people he should have so much in common with, but every single turn meets him with more people pushing him away.

and it isn't until battle of the labyrinth, until he's named as the child of the prophecy, that people actually start to treat him as one of them.

It always bugs me how Percy is so dependent on Annabeth for plans in HOO, I mean this is the boy that orchestrated a lot of the defense during the Battle for Manhattan! Like he was leading that battle! And it worked - it kept the monsters out of Manhattan/the Empire State Building long enough for reinforcements to show up (Party Ponies) and with the addition of Party Ponies, able to force Kronos to shift his barrier to a far smaller area! Like that is incredible! Percy is a brilliant strategist and it's a pity that RR reduced him down to powerful/comedic in the series, especially when Annabeth is present.

I know the Doylian reason for this is because for some reason RR overpowered the 5 new characters to the series and needed Annabeth to be equal to them in some way, so she became the only leader, the only strategist and the only one capable of it. And like there was no reason for them to be as powerful as they were? Like Jason, Hazel. Fine. They're Big Three Kids. Frank? He's powerful yes, but his abilities are greatly hampered by the fact that he literally holds his life in his hands, or rather in his pocket. But Leo and Piper? There should be no reason for them to be nearly as powerful as they are in the books. But if RR wanted all 5 kids to have powers, then he could have at least tried to balance Annabeth out. Like instead of giving Hazel Mist powers, when she has her own earth powers which would have been fascinating to see in the final battle of HOH, give it to Annabeth. Have her learn the Mist instead and use it to help her against Arachne. Like I understand the desire to have Annabeth to defeat Arachne using wisdom and logic, but having the Mist to help would definitely make it interesting.

This would be such a good premise for an AU????? hello???? cause we know that Thalia actually learned to manipulate the mist so she could have thought Annabeth and Annabeth being Annabeth obviously wouldn’t be satisfied with the basics and would have learned all that she could -

but yeah rick for sure fumbled and realised he overpowered percy (hence removal of the achilles curse) and needed some way to make sure the others were on the same level and something I noticed early on is that Percy and Annabeth are equals as in for every strategy that Annabeth comes up with Percy comes up with one that saves all of their assesses too. the only difference is that percy’s opinion is biased and he dumbs it down cause he doesn’t think highly of himself but from an outsiders perspective it’s clearly calculated yknow. like we see it as early as in book with where he bribes charon and manipulates crusty into his own torture device again this isn’t taking anything away from annabeth but I just need to let it be known that annabeth would never be with someone who she thinks is stupid like cmon girl would go crazy in a day like she genuinely respects percy and trusts his crazy plans

that being said firm believer of annabeth chase having powers. like yes she’s smart and all but ngl we really don’t see her explicitly showcasing it?? like other characters also have the same ability/planning abilities so where is her athena knowledge coming from?? (correct me if i’m wrong btw) but yeah rick fr did the others dirty

People talk about how “overpowered” and freaky some of the physical feats in PJO and HOO are but I think people forget that all demigods inherently have enhanced, speed, agility, and strength. So at lot of these physical feats actually make a lot of sense in their “power scaling.”

And I know a lot of people like talk about the Lois Arc jump because that is insane but there are a lot of other feats that show off the enhanced attributes some of the other demigods have.

Like, Hazel ran after a Arion, the fastest horse alive for a WHOLE day. Hours upon hours on end. And even if Arion WASN’T the fastest horse he’s still. A horse. That Hazel was able to keep up with. And then run all the way home.

Reyna EASILY knocks away giant werewolves with a knife and used her javelin like a pole vault. Annabeth managed to fight Kronos, a whole ass Titan, to a standstill. And she’s been shown to perform moves only professional acrobatic and gymnast can do. Piper threw a fifty pound shield at Medea and was described to move fast as a viper.

Jason had dodged arrows that have appeared out of no where, no warning, and Percy has side stepped bullets. BULLETS.

Not to mention that with the Lycaon and werewolves they were all out running and keeping up with WOLVES.

So, yeah, demigods have freaky physical feats.

Everyone is talking about how shocking it was that the Apollo cabin left the battle of Manhattan with only 3 survivors, but it’s so much worse than most people realize. Camp Half-Blood starts with somewhere around 100 campers in “The Lightning Thief." They start the battle of Manhattan with only 40 campers. Which, not great, but they were missing the Ares cabin, so that doesn’t seem so bad, right? THEY ONLY HAVE 16 CAMPERS BY THE TIME THE DRAKON SHOWS UP. They left camp with 2 buses full of hopeful demigods, but by the end of the book, the survivors don’t even fill up half of a bus.

I don’t quite understand the trajectory that Rick chose for Percy and Nico’s friendship. Like, Percy cared about Nico a lot, at a time when Nico didn’t necessarily make it easy for him to care (not that I blame him) and Percy chose to take on the prophecy to protect Nico (which is hardly mentioned later) and they eventually became friends who really cared about each other. And, I get that Percy felt really betrayed after that thing with Hades, but he seemed okay with Nico at the end of the Last Olympian. He used Nico as an example for why Hades’ kids should not be excluded and he did so without any internal reservations. Also Nico helped protect Percy’s parents (which is also never mentioned later) which I don’t think Percy would ever forget something like that. Idk, even if Percy had some complicated feelings about Nico, I don’t think he’d stop caring about him (sorry I’m using that word a lot) and Percy’s an empathetic guy as well, so I’m sure he’d have understood eventually. I feel like the relationship that they’d had in the PJ series wasn’t done justice in the HOO series. Could you please tell me what you think?

oh 1000% like... Percy basically took care of Nico and (somewhat) helped raise him like he was basically running after Nico (who hated him at the time) and trying to put out his fires despite it not being his responsibility ++ even when he almost died due to Nico Percy was pretty much okay with him in like minutes so that clearly shows that despite everything Percy still trusts Nico

and obviously the whole HOO dynamic was just like??? I could excuse it if Percy still didn't have his memories but this was after so the only way I can think of it is like a sibling bond where Percy is like yes he's an emo annoying little bitch but like if anyone else said it Percy would flat out punch them

Sally names Percy for the happy ending she hopes he’ll get. she spends hours researching demigods and their ends. Heracles, poisoned and given immortality as a leash. Bellerophon, revered for his deeds and killed for his hubris. Achilles, feared by all yet slain in battle. none of those would be her boy. She names him Perseus, for his successes and his long life, and she hopes it will help protect him, this name.

Percy is thirteen, recently returned from his first week at Camp, when Sally calls him by his full name. what had caused it, she can't remember. all she can remember is her strict, "Perseus Jackson––" and her son's poorly hidden, full-bodied flinch.

Sally knew––gods, she knew––that he would face hardships. she knew he would have to learn to fight, to protect himself, to kill––but that knowledge hadn't been enough to dim her hope. it was that flinch, that fear that he'd quickly cleared from his eyes at hearing his own name, that started to eat away at her hope like rot.

oh and I sincerely believe that Poseidon telling Percy "You're my favorite child" was absolutely a manipulation tactic/power play and it worked

it may have even been the truth!! but I also do not think its a coincidence that Poseidon tells Percy this after Percy has blown up an entire mountain, accidentally released Typhon, and its a exactly year out from the Great Prophecy coming to pass... the Gods were terrified and that was a "hey sport you know I love you right <3 😰" moment if I've ever seen one

Sirius' patronus is a small, slender cat. It's fussy and pretends to scratch him every so often. The cat looks like it's partway between being a kitten and a fully grown cat. Sirius will never know that his patronus has a counterpart.
