Read My Mind (Queenie and Gellert as Percival Graves)
She’s too energetic for his taste, but Gellert could see her appeal.
In possibly another place or time, perhaps the girls looks would have swayed his opinions. With her golden curls that farmed high cheekbones, eyes a glimmery shade of deep emerald and body curved deliciously. Perhaps another time, perhaps another life.
She stands tall and proud in her long pale pink coat and strappy heels, a smile etched onto her face.
Gellert wishes he could admire her dimples more personally.
“Good morning, Mr. Graves! Lovely weather, isn’t it?” Queenie stares into his eyes, shoulders straight and he see’s why Abernathy is gone for her.
“Morning to you, Queenie.” Out comes Percival Graves’ voice, rich and silky and smooth. “It’s a bit warm for my taste, to be honest.”
Gellert catches a glimspe of himself in the mirror above Queenie’s desk, and his mood lessens more.
He misses the length of pale blond hair he has, his mismatched irises and his scruff on his chin; now he looks at himself during every passing chance, only to face the face of Percival Graves, The Director of Magical Security and the head of MACUSA’s Department of Magical Law Enforcement.
Should have gone with someone else, Gellert thinks.
“Mr. Graves sir, are you alright?”
“I’m sorry, someone else?” Queenie’s voice chirps in, and Gellert compares her to those pretty song birds Grandmothers kept in cages.
Pretty to look at for awhile, but growing more annoying as time passes.
It is then that Gellert feels it, just the smallest pressure against his head, like someones poked a finger against his forehead.
The pressure only increases, likes someones rapping their knuckles against his head. Knocking and knocking and waiting for the home owner to finally give in and answer the door.
He chances a glance upwards, as his eyes had strayed to the ground.
Queenie looks nervous.
“I’m fine, just a bit hot. Would you mind getting me some water?” Gellert shuts her out quickly, putting up wall after wall, locking each lock and swallowing every single key.
“On not at all!” He watches as she scurries off, her long pink coat fluttering about as her heels tap tap tap against the marbled flooring.
Gellert hasn’t played with a Legilimen in too long.
