Okay so like I said, this song very much fits Percy's Vibes, but there are a few specific lyrics that stick out as being very Him

Yeah pretty obvious but this opening lyric reminds me of him leaving Briar, assuring her that he'll come back for her, only to ultimately decide not to.

This one makes me think about him reflecting on that decision, and how much Briar very desperately did not want to be left in the first place. It broke his heart to leave her behind, he saw that it broke hers too, and he knows that deciding to not come back broke them both all over again.
