totally agree on evan hansen. the guy is a great singer, but all the songs sound basically the same? i bought the cast recording and i’ve not even listened to it all the way through once

Yep. I’d heard a couple songs in isolation, but played it through during my not-lunch break and reviewed the plot synopsis (which I’d heard, but not really grasped). Underwhelming, all around.

All the songs sorta mush into each other, and it reminded me (not in a good way) of Next to Normal, musically, as well as thematically re: dealing hamfistedly with mental illness in theatre.

Also, Evan is a dick. Having a mental illness doesn’t justify your shitty, manipulative behavior, dude. I’m not rooting for you.

First of all, I love you weirdos on the internet, truly, and I am grateful to you all every day for letting me vent, sending little messages of sympathy, or gifs, or jokes, and just generally helping get through this fucking awful mess.

Secondly, my sweetheart was/is one of you weirdos, and she is--against all logic and reason--still around. But I don’t really know WTF I’m doing from one moment to the next, everything is a disaster, and she should have long since run for the hills. I’m not only expecting it at any moment, I know it would be better for her if she did. She is trying, but what can I ask of her? It’s gone from an unusual arrangement for her to an unbearable one. It’s unbearable all around, but I don’t have a choice to not-deal. She does.

So I haven’t written much about her or us lately.  The freshness of my split from D and all of its fallout--physical, emotional, financial, etc.--is sucking all the air out of the room, and I’m just trying to stumble through the days and not die or ruin anything more than I already have.

i found this site called undebt-it and it's super simple and you add in your debt accounts and info (but it doesn't connect to the accounts, it manual entry) and i'm using it to do the snowball debt payoff. i'm really liking it so far! i've tried excel sheets before, but they just don't do it for me.

Thanks! I am...lucky I guess in that I have one massive six-figure student loan but no other debt, so I don’t need to do much in the way of calculations beyond “how much can I put towards this" which I can do in a spreadsheet. I can definitely see things becoming much more complicated with multiple loans or if I had credit card debt or previous loans as well.
