Come get this healing! We are excited to launch our second annual Community Ritual! Part 1 is from January 29th - January 31st, and is an offering of performance rituals, workshops, artist talks and overall queer magic. This is for Black queer and trans people! All events are FREE and ASL interpreted. Our Community Ritual is an intergenerational program placing Black queer and trans folk at its center, to commune, celebrate and create liberatory and healing experiences. Come indulge in healing at the palms of your own hands, build community, and conjure magic all weekend long. Join Us.
Part 2 of our Community Ritual is an offering of digital spells for Black queer and trans healing and liberation. Each day in February - #BlackHealingMonth - Indulge and receive a short spell and let it wash all over you. Take what you need. Spells will be posted on IGTV and on Tumblr.
Healing the Black Body is an offering to create, build, and practice healing and liberation in Black queer and trans communities through performance, movement, and Black Feminism. We envision a world with freedom at its center, particularly where Black queer and trans people live free from oppression, and have abundant access to tools for intergenerational healing. The Community Ritual is sponsored, in part, by the Greater New York Arts Development Fund of the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs, administered by Brooklyn Arts Council. The Community Ritual is also funded through Third Wave Fund.
