I haven't really been on here in a long time BUT..

I'm so proud of those who are finally been speaking up about people misusing their patreons. It's nothing wrong with supporting your favorite creator. There's nothing wrong with seeking compensation for "work" that you do.

BUT YOU CANT STEAL SOMETHING FROM SOMEONE WHO STOLE IT IN THE FIRST PLACE!

Every designer bag they converted? ILLEGAL! Every show that people converted for your sims and you to watch in your game? ILLEGAL! Every dance move that you saw on social media or on a music video? Hmmm...guess what it is if that person pushed hard enough? ILLEGAL!

I'm gonna be the rude voice in all this since everyone else seems to be really nice about it. But I'm not gonna be nice because WE ARE GROWN! This is a children's game and now yall doxxing people because yall DONT WANT PEOPLE TO FIGURE OUT THAT YALL STEAL PEOPLE SHIT! Like wtf sense does that make? You walk in a store and buy a dining room set from IKEA, signing up for their little newsletters in the process. Further on, youve decided that you're gonna give the set to your buddy who just moved to a new place. You wanted some new furniture anyway. Well now, your ass is BANNED from IKEA & Rent A Center (because they sharing info, remember?) just because you gave your friend something YOU PAID FOR? Hi Everyone

All of our patrons will receive a free model conversion for The Sims 4 in the which they may use as usual in the game. Means, nothing will change for you.

Everyone is confused about some EA statement yesterday about mods and cc cant be monetized. Some creators choose to leave, some choose to ignore as it is a 25 years old policy and it didnt change yesterday. As some creators we took some legal advice. Seems a bit tricky ,but it is legal. 

Based on a statement EA made on July 21, 2022, on mods and custom content. I've made the decision, along with other creators, that we will no longer maintain any connection to EA or the Sims franchise. This is our decision after seeking formal legal advice. From this point on, we will only publish and market our 3D models in their original form as sale . All of our patrons will receive a free model conversion for The Sims 4 in the which they may use as usual in the game. Means, nothing will change for you.

All ownership of our 3D models and textures is reserved by us. Additionally, we are permitted by law to transform our 3D models into any other form. We will continue to offer our regular Patreon content that was published before to the statement on July 21, 2022. Last but not least, we want to thank you for all the wonderful support you have given us over the years. Custom content creation takes a lot of time. We do appreciate your understanding and support.

We’d like to remind Leo that leaving their content locked prior to the statement is still in violation of TOS. This was always their policy as we’ve been shouting from the rooftops since this blog was created.

inquiry about EA service agreement

I wasn't sure where to ask this; I wanted to contact EA directly, but I couldn't figure out how. so this is about section 5, which reads:  

A lot of EA games don’t support mods or sale of mods period. Just because EA clarified that perma paywalling isn’t allowed, which Drake already said years ago, doesn’t mean Leo can ignore that. They also need to change their name as they can no longer have branding that is affiliated with the franchise. This statement was super convoluted. Not sure what to make of it. Sounds like they’re going to try to game to system.

There's really no need to keep writing these long ass posts about what your stance is now that EA has reinforced what was always a rule. Either 2 things are gonna happen.

A.) Follow the fucking rule, release your content (or not) and accept donations as optional. As it's always been.

B.) Don't follow the rule and get your shit taken down so that WE don't have to worry about it and YOU don't have to worry about it.

All these sob stories and boo hoos coming from nowhere. Now EVERYBODY is so for eacc. The same ones who considered this 'drama' and didn't speak up for YEARS.

Edit: So glad to hear that yall can keep those 2-3 weeks. Now I would advise yall either get a savings account or start branching somewhere else. Because making your living off the sims is fucking nuts.
