So I Play Fairgrounds Warden and have it Exil an opposing creature. Then later in the game, a Permeating Mass deals combat damage to my fairground warden, turning it into a copy of the mass. Now, if my Fairgrounds Warden dies, will my opponent get his creature back?
Yes, it still comes back.
The fast that Fairgrounds Warden no longer has its triggered ability doesn’t matter since returning the creature is part of the original trigger that exiles the creature.
I have Archangel Avacyn and another creature. My opponent swings with some creatures, and I block a Permeating Mass with Avacyn and the other creature dies blocking some other creature. Will Avacyn still flip at the next upkeep, and if so, what will she be?
Both Avacyn’s second trigger and Permeating Mass’s trigger go on the stack at the same time. At the beginning of the next upkeep, Avacyn’s delayed trigger will resolve and transform her. The card will physically transform to its Avacyn, the Purifier side, but it’s still affected by the ability which makes it a copy of Permeating Mass, and so it’s still a Permeating Mass and thus there’s no damage trigger.
GivingOdric, Lunarch Marshal+Permeating Masssynergy a trial run. Pretty excited. Oaths and Recruiters should let me filter for what abilities I need to make my Masses better than their Masses; Always Watching is good for this too. Bonus points if I turn a man-land into a Mass.
Soooooo this is the first ever Standard deck I brewed completely on my own (with some advice from my friends, I’ll admit) and I’m very excited to take it to FNM. There’s some weird shit going on in here with four Permeating Mass; the objective is to use Odric to make it so that my creatures are better than their creatures and most of the creatures are Masses. And then win?
I also tried to make it ready to go after rotation, and if it does well I’ll probably be taking it to SCG Milwaukee!
Let's say I've given my brand new Permeating Mass Deathtouch and attacked into my opponents indestructible creature. We know any amount of damage from a deathtouch creature is considered lethal, would that still apply after Permeating Mass's copy trigger forces their creature to lose its indestructible status?
No.
State-based actions only check to see if there’s been damage from a source with deathtouch dealt to the creature since the last time state-based actions were checked. So by the time that Permeating Mass’s trigger resolves, deathtouch’s venom has worn off and the newly non-indestructible Mass will just have 1 damage marked on it and survive.
If Permeating Mass blocks a planeswalker that has been made a creature until end of turn (Sarkhan or Gideon), will that planeswalker return to normal at end of turn, or will it stay a copy of Permeating Mass?
Nope, it’ll just stay a copy of Permeating Mass, assuming the damage is actually dealt to it and not prevented. Gideon won’t become Massed, but Sarkhan will.
