I apparently read a lot this year.

I've spent the last three days going through my AO3 history for the entire year, putting all fics I completely read into a excel document because I'm weird and started obsessing over those details for whatever reason.

According to AO3 and my memory, I read 684 fics to completion this year (or until most-recent chapter). I know I'm missing quite a few fics since I mostly read on FFN until May, but I did manage to remember some of them because they made such an impact. Those fics were spread across 19 fandoms, and my top 5 were LITG, Criminal Minds, Twilight (I can't even explain this one), Harry Potter and Grey's Anatomy.

They also came to a total of 9,704,416 words. I was kinda kicking myself because I barely read any original books this year, but at a total of 9 million words, I read about 100 novels (based on the average novel length of 90k words).

That's pretty fucking amazing if you ask me... I might have to do this next year.

Goodbye 2021, you menace of a year. Through all the ups and downs, I am very thankful to have been blessed with fandom family. As you can see, I wrote a lot back in the day, and it felt weird to not write, but alas, real life stuff came up. I went through a really rough patch, mentally, and struggled to come back to what I love. 2013 - 2017 was really me struggling to find my happiness, my muse, and balance in my life. I gave up entirely for over a year. I thought I could return in 2019, but my passion just wasn’t there, and I gave up again. I felt like a total failure. It all changed in 2021, in large part due to TFAWS. I don’t care how silly it sounds that a TV show would’ve made such a difference, but it’s true! ALL of my writing stats for the year start from May (airing of TFAWS) onward. And my favourite thing about ANY fandom is the people I meet. I’ve met some astounding people and now I cannot imagine my life without them. 🤎 First published work: May 21, 2021 (White Wolf - AO3) 💗 Favourite Work: between butterfly - AO3 (Bucky x Joaquin x Sam) and Black Mercy - AO3 (Bucky x Sam) 💛 Longest Work: teach me how to love - AO3 (Bucky x Reader) 🖤 Most Viewed Work: office hours - AO3 (Bucky x Reader) 💙 Proudest Moment: I finished two big events for me: Bucky Barnes Bingo with a blackout!! My first ever! And, a WinterFalcon Big Bang fic (at 40K words, no less!) 💜 What about 2022? My goal is to keep going, of course! Back in 2012 I set a goal to hit 1 million words on AO3, which just made it extra disheartening when I kept failing to come back and write. I think I’m back on track so if all is good, I’ll be hitting that next year! I’ve also branched out in the fandom to work on COLLABS! I am so excited! And I’ve also signed up for a ton of more events to come! So thank you all for the reblogs, the feedback and comments so I get to chat with you. It always makes me so happy. goals for next year: keep writing!  Prior to 2021, I had only dabbled in writing fanfiction, this was the first year that I had ideas and finally got them to 'paper' and up on A03.  One of my first focuses is to finished Heat Rising and then to finish off a couple longer WIPs that I've had lingering around.  Also hoping to participate in the same events this year, they were all a lot of fun!

week 1 of october is done 🍂 i have set up the perfect tracking system for myself with the elements i find important: - i like to track my exercise sessions to make sure i work out at least 3 times a week - and a current weekly mileage of 10km to slowly get back into running. - i like to log my runs with distance, pace and calories. that way i can see improvement in pace/distance and also make sure i eat the right amount of food after (kcal) - i am also weighing myself again but not prioritizing it, as long as i’m exercising and eating so i feel good i’m perfectly fine with maintaining 😇 but i do wanna track it in case i lose weight

this weeks stats: 11km of running , 5 workouts, no weight lost this week i’ve struggled a bit with my health anxiety but my way to cope with it is just to eat healthy meals despite lacking appetite and to hit the gym. had some good runs and i’m feeling stronger at the gym. the weight isn’t doing much which is perfectly fine. what’s important right now is to feel healthy and keep my anxiety at bay. halfway through october! 🎃
