I know I’m probably in a very unpopular boat, but I hate personalized ads not because of the privacy implications, but because they freak me the fuck out. Nothing makes me run away from a product faster than casually viewing it on one platform, and then having it chase me down on another platform. It literally freaks me tf out. And if it’s not an ad, and it’s an algorithmic recommendation for a video or something, I couldn’t possibly tap “Not Interested” and leave the site faster than when that shit happens. Freaks me tf out. My interests are isolated to specific platforms for a reason. Don’t try to mix them up on my behalf.

-Sigh- Really Tumblr? ‘Personalized Ads’ Issue. Please Read....

...unfortunately, once more it happened, now if you don’t follow my blog at all -- i made a post a while back, that i was discussing a thing that tumblr did which is a new ‘change’ they’ve decided to do, whoopie 🙄..you did something “grand” tumblr... note this was slapped in my face when i tried to share a video.

the change was that they added the ‘personalized ad’ dumpster, it’s why when you go to tumblr it slaps you with ads that are either; annoying or uncomfortable to view, you may be wondering ‘how do i get rid of this??’ or you may know already how to, heck even made a blog post about it early than my arse, but i wanted to make one as well for those viewers who didn’t stumble upon the possible countless of people who have done said post. nevertheless, (note: before i share how to get rid of it let me explain something) i found out that not only do they slap you with ads but they do this extremist major of data mining the shiet out of you that they sell all that data you give them without knowing or just know but want to play the cool person of idk phase ♪～(￣、￣ )

....don’t kill me here hehe. ..to continue, the shiet that tumblr is doing with this dumpster of a failed move is a very dangerous and scummy move that i seriously do believe people should really make a huge complaint at them for doing this is worse than what facebook does, and it’s a disgusting man. - really what happened to this website?? who owns it now?? a stalker? tumblr isn’t supposed to be knowing your address at all or anything of you. that isn’t normal, i really urge you all to please (if you don’t want to reblog my post - fine just as long as you read it and understood it) make a post about this, warn others, as much as you can even outside of tumblr for they can know ahead of time of how scummy tumblr is being.

let me give you an example/’tutorial’ of how bad it is, your “annoying” person here, had to object a shiet ton of freaking websites from taking all my personal data - like everything they do they collect it, **anything**. so imagine you have to see over A-Z companies sucking the data blood out of you, -- wouldn’t be fun, now would it? nonetheless i had to object to all of them, and it was tiring, i found out that every website that sucks your personal data they collect was ‘okay’ automatically by tumblr, without them alerting you at all. - i had to go to my settings to re-change the consent on data mining they do to us all

i highly advise you to click on the cookie consent bs and uncheck it, go through the process that i had to do with the rest of those who found out as well; click on the ‘legitimate interest’ tab and object to all A-Z

then click on ‘partners’ and see if all of it, is ‘off’ because you got google/facebook stalking you - wanting that data that tumblr is okay with giving... =D..isn’t that great...kill me(being sarcastic here)

now whether you want to do this or not is up to you. i am just giving you a heads up with the rest of the possible other folks that have made posts about this seriously disturbing matter. fyi; they will still greet you with that crappy pop of ‘ACCEPT US TO STALK THE CRAP OUT OF’ - just click on agree to selected and everything will be fine, do not click ‘agree to all’
