The Angry Birds 2 (2019):
“ The flightless birds and scheming green pigs take their feud to the next level (IMDb Description).”
Some months ago, I’ve reviewed the first Angry Birds movie. I don’t care that much for the games, but I wanted to give the movies a chance. The first movie was a generic mess and honestly...so is this one. Honestly, I think this movie is worst than the previous one. It’s generic, predictable and there’s barely any fun moment. It’s not a terrible film, don’t get me wrong. It’s very colorful, nicely acted and it has some cute moments but honestly...I was not impressed. Also, this movie defenily feels like an Ice Age rip-off, specially with the “side characters”. If you’ve seen the first movie, then you know what to expect in this one.
The Angry Birds Movie 2 Teaser
Zeta needs a change of scenery.
The Angry Birds 2 stars the voice talents of Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Leslie Jones, Bill Hader, Rachel Bloom, Awkwafina, Sterling K. Brown, Eugenio Derbez, Danny McBride, and Peter Dinklage. Thurop Van Orman and John Rice are directing from a screenplay by Peter Ackerman.
The Angry Birds 2 hits theaters in Summer 2019.
Sony Announces “Angry Birds 2″ for 2019
When the original Angry Birds film earned $349.7 million worldwide — on a $73 million budget — it was obvious this film was destined for a sequel. After all, Sony Animation has made three sequels to the less successful Open Season ($197 million worldwide, 2006).
Less expected was that this film could be something enjoyable. The mix of experience in cartoon projects enjoyed by adults and kids alike gives me hope.
Thurop Van Orman (Adventure Time writer, creator of Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack) will direct the sequel alongside co-director John Rice (King of the Hill, Rick & Morty), with Ice Age scribe Peter Ackerman (also of FXX’s The Americans) writing the script.
The September 20, 2019, release will be just a few months shy of the Angry Birds app’s 10th anniversary.
