ralph loves lollipops, like those comically big swirly carnival ones

jack likes lemonade, but HATES going to some kid's stand to get it so he makes it himself at home because his parents always forget to buy some for him

roger enjoys ice cream, chocolate and vanilla specifically, always expects his parents to buy him ice cream when they go to the beach, if he doesn't he broods all the way home and then his parents feel sad because their sweet boy isn't talking to them (i think they're very sensitive)

maurice is a cake MENACE. will eat any kind of cake you put in front of him he doesn't care he's immediately digging in, you blink and it's gone and his face is incredibly messy

peter HAAAATEESSSSS candy corn, seethes whenever they're in sight, they disgust him

someone sent me an ask on my piggy blog about his parents and now i'm in a research spiral because of a few things

(yap under cut)

All I have so far is that in canon (book), he is English, he has dead parents, and lives with his aunt. I have some headcanons for his parents names and how they died, but nothing else. In the play, he is said to be Cockney, and in the 60's movie he's said to be from Camberley. (And the 90's movie doesn't count at all for that blog's canon.)

This is where several supposes come in.

If we suppose that the book is set in 1952, and Piggy was twelve then, he would've been born in 1940.

If we suppose that both given locations are true, we can guess he would've had to move.

If we suppose that the book takes place during ww3 and that ww2 would have had to happen first (this is canon and obvious but still), and that just like in real life, east london was hit pretty hard by the nazi's, that it would make absolutely no sense to send your child to live in a more dangerous place.

If we suppose that like some sites online say, accents fully develop around the age of twelve, but we also suppose that Piggy and his parents moved to live with his aunt who I have named Rosemary about an hour so away in around 1945, and then died when he was eight, we create an accent related plothole.

Piggy gets made fun of for his accent like when Ralph says "sucks to your ass-mar" in the book, and gets made fun of for it by Jack a million times in the acting edition. But he moved at an age too young to have a permanent accent both because of his parent's death and the war going on. And according to the main source I could find, Wikipedia, that Camberley was not a common place to be evacuated to, he wouldn't have been surrounded by enough Cockney kids to keep his accent. But otherwise only one place can be his canon home. And then I would have to do even more war related research. And would people even make fun of an Essex accent? I am definitely overthinking this. Plothole.

Basically, I have a lot more research to do about this topic, and if you find anything useful, let me know. Also sorry anon if this takes a while but I wanted to give a more accurate answer and that means a lot of research.
