tips for new kitty regressors .ᐟ

๑ videos ──୨ৎ── i have a kitty, and i play bird videos for her often, so watch some of those or use them as background noise!! or fish too!! and squirrels!

๑ toys ──୨ৎ── get kitty toys!! or yarn!! feather toys, toys that roll and have bells, etc!!

๑ snacks ──୨ৎ── snacksss like tuna with crackers, milk, goldfish, swedish fish, sushi, and anything else you could think of! you can also try baking sweets into cat treat shapes like a fish or a paw!

๑ cat shows/movies/cartoons ──୨ৎ── like the aristocats! or the amazing world of gumball, puss in boots, garfield, and morrre!

๑ windows ──୨ৎ─ just lay by a window and watch stuff outside, maybe have a bird feeder right by so you can watch them!

๑ kitty coloring book ──୨ৎ─ coloring book or pages with cats!! or hello kitty too!!

๑ zooming ──୨ৎ─ be extra super duper carful!! but running around and climbing or jumping onto couches!! i like to run and chase my cat or she chases me and its funsies!!

๑ floor time ──୨ৎ─ oooo i love this,,, especially by the window when the suns hitting the floor!! veryy kitty like very much fun and relaxing although if you dont have carpet floor you can put a blanket down!! its extra nice if you have a kitty you can cuddle up with!

⋱ ― ♱ . TIPS FOR PET REGRESSORS AND THEIR HANDLERS ♱

For this post, handler means the caregiver for a pet regressor. That's the term I like to use to differentiate between agere and petre, however use what term you prefer!

I strongly advise against trying to search for a caregiver on the internet for several reasons. For all ages, but especially for minors. Caregivers / handlers should be people who you are incredibly close to and trust deeply, usually beforehand to establish a good relationship.

Now for the tips:

Learn up about the type of animal being regressed to! It can help the regressor feel more connected and the handler feel more educated!

It's fun to learn tricks! And tricks can also help serve as grounding techniques sometimes. Another great way to use tricks can also be to help with medical trauma. Like teaching animals in captivity to associate check-ups with positive experiences!

Always ensure snack choices are human safe. Lots of foods that animals eat can be safe for human consumption but not all. There's good alternatives out there though so research can be great!

One thing I like would be especially important for regressors who need decompression spaces, is try to help the regressor set up a den or enclosure or sort of a.... 'no touch tank' if that makes sense. An area where they can retreat to decompress and calm down after stressful things or harsh triggers. You can also always attempt to make digital versions of a space like this if that might help too.

Carry around treats! A snack is always nice. Both pet regressors and their handlers might need something to eat, especially if they're on walks or doing any big task or activity. Treats can also be used for tricks and enrichment!

Discuss alternative ways of communication. Some pet regressor might feel their ability to verbalize things decline during regression, similar to some age regressors. Opting instead to communicate with noises (like whining or purring) and touch or motions (pawing at something or nudging with their nose).

Explore ways to modify or customize things either regressor or handler already own for regression! Such as making the bottoms of a cane or crutch look like a paw. Or get a tail that doesn't interfere with wheel chair usage.

Feel free to reblog with your own additions to the tips! These are just a few I thought would be helpful based on my experience as a regressor and caregiver / handler.

hey! so ik a lot of age regressors live with their parents (me included) so here's a quick lil post on how you can acquire/hide stuff such as pacis, bottles, and toys :3

if there's a store on the way to school and it's within walking/biking distance you can walk/bike past the store and get whatever you want and just. hide it in your bag :3 i did this three times and never got caught

and at checkout i've said both "my friend is taking me to this baby shower thingy and i don't wanna arrive empty-handed" and "my teacher's having!! a kid!!" you can also get a card thats like "congrats on the child" but that's only if you wanna spend extra money

you can hide the little gear under your pillow, in your pillowcase, under a pile of plushies, or in a closet/drawer

i personally regress at night on my bed after everyone else is asleep, but i understand that some people one, need lots of sleep (i do too but shhhh) or two, don't have the space on their bed (i have a rather large loft bed :3)

Does anyone have any tips for being a raptor regressor....

I have no idea what to do really and tend to just give up regressing due to dysphoria right away and being bored :( idkk

Snacks 4 Red Panda Regressors ❤️

Acorns!! If you can't get acorns, chestnuts are a similar alternative. A non-nut alternative is acorn squash.

Fruits!!! I especially love slightly crunchy fruits like apple slices, and my favorite apples are Pink Lady apples <3 more good fruits and veggies: Celery (veeeery similar mouthfeel to bamboo!!!), cucumbers, carrots, cubed watermelon, pears, blueberries, strawberries

Eggs!!! Any kind of egg made in any way! Don't want real eggs? Gummy eggs are great!

Tofu for some reason feels very red panda

Boba tea

Gummy lizards!!

VEGGIE STRAWS FOR BAMBOO MOUTHFEEL. My favorite is the sea salt !!!

I like iced tea lattes!!! Especially green tea or Chai! Especially with honey >:]

Honey in general actually! I especially like it on bread! If you wait a minute the honey crystallizes and hardens on the bread and gets kinda crunchy. Such a good texture. Honey is also very healthy!

🐣 。 How / where to hide regression gear﹒

· at the bottom of laundry baskets (with an item like a blanket or something to seperate it from the clothes above)

· places people wouldn't check (random old pencil cases, little pouches that are easy to hide, etc)

· the gap between your bed/furniture and the wall

· shoe boxes, especially with the wrapper

· a box in a closet with clothes covering it

· inside a coat/jacket pocket

· in socks

· under clothes in a dresser

· in stuffies with zips to put it in

· under your bed

· in backpacks or book bags

· a scarf or other clothing wrapping it, most effective if also put into a closet

· at the very back of drawers

· bookcases with books in front of the gear to hide it

· in pillow cases or blanket covers

note : these things work best when combined (ex. putting gear in a shoebox and then putting that at the bottom of a laundry basket)

Regression Tips: Pokemon Edition (Rockruff) 🪨🐶

~ Self-Care for Rockruffs

• find a trainer/handler you trust, if you need one

• keep protein-rich snacks that are travel friendly (jerky, trail mix, peanut butter pretzels, tuna packets, energy balls, sandwich crackers)

• play outside in nature

• go hiking or walk a mountain path

• or do dog-friendly yoga if you can't go outside

• bring along water to stay hydrated (if you don't like plain water, try herbal tea or broths instead)

• wash up after playing outside/getting dirty

• keep your chompers & claws clean

• learn self-defense (to protect yourself or your loved ones)

• take time to visit/check-in on your friends

• allow yourself alone time if you feel yourself getting too "aggressive"

• make yourself a comfy "den" for taking naps
