Silas had always found parties fascinating in a way he could never really explain. He never cared about the type of that ended up at parties—and he hated the amount of people that always showed up to them. But somehow they were always interesting to him. There was a slight bit of chaos that he somehow managed to feed off of. After a year that had been an absolute struggle for him, Silas was ready to put school behind. Maybe that would help with the burnout feeling, give him a new feeling of purpose. Tonight was a celebration—and he wanted to have one more night of fun before everything got serious. “If you’ve come over here to ask me to dance, I’m afraid I haven’t had quite enough to drink.” The cup in his hand was nearly empty though. “Unless you’re just here for company.”
