But I'm bias and my favourite character she writes and will ever write will always be @voros-kiralyno. Celeste is proud of her red queen. we love you.

Isobel tries her absolute hardest to be a mini Katherine, being the newest turned Petrova vampire. Isobel finds it fun to watch Katherine at work. Katherine gets what she wants when she wants it. most of the time. So when Katherine comes to visit, Isobel is almost trying to show Katherine all the bad things she's achieved in order to be like Katherine, often bringing her 'prizes' from her missions. It was however an added bonus that Isobel already despises Elena and that was before she knew Elena would end up being the doppelganger.

Isobel still being super young herself, she was only turned in 2007, but had been researching her family for many years before that. Katherine had taught her most of what she knows, how to get what she wants using the petrova charm.

Another thing I love about the Petrova line-- Nadia’s father was never of consequence. He wasn’t someone important to bring back in flashback.

The Petrova women are important it is from them that the doppelganger legacy lived on.

I forgot that David Anders was in The Vampire Diaries as Elena’s father ‘Uncle John’ (who most certainly deserved Katherine maiming his hand and stabbing him repeatedly).

I’m also looking back at the line of Petrova women starting all the way from Amara, the template of the Petrova doppelgangers but it’s not clear if the Petrova women are directly related to Amara.

Tatia is the first Petrova doppelganger, a widow with a young child who chose to continue living rather than burn herself in her husband’s funeral pyre. 

(This desire to live and survive runs strongly in all the Petrova women with Katherine as the ultimate embodiment of this survivor mentality, which makes the 2000 years of torture Amara endured so horrible it overrode her natural inclination to live.)

Looking through the Petrova line I really like that it's a matriarchy and a bloodline that produces awesome women (with really awesome hair). 

(Katherine’s family is an anomaly since her father seemed to run the household but that might be because of the era.)

Petrova women manage to have one child before their (often times, horrible) death so the bloodline survives. 

This would make Elena the last living Petrova woman and this might mean, especially if she does end up with Damon (and provided he doesn’t turn human), that Petrova line ends with her. Considering the fate of all the Petrova doppelgangers this could be deliberate on Elena’s part, far kinder to end the line with her.
