I wanted to try drawing my pups based off a conversation my partner and I had about what they would look like if they were humans in high school. Bugbear has always been squat like her mom, even when she’s a healthy weight, and I wanted to illustrate that in her body type. She’s also a loud mouth punk and my familiar, so of course she’s a punk who got in trouble at school to cover her inappropriate shirt with a pentacle she won’t take off. She’s very much a chihuahua, and I wanted to try drawing BIPOC hairstyles, starting with her curly natural hair. Her tattoo is of a dragon, which is her favorite toy. Ranger is a skinny chihuahua mix, but the breed from her mix that shows the most is her greyhound heritage. Ranger is a sprinter and incredibly dumb, but she’s got the biggest heart. So her design is an upbeat track runner. Her unicorn tee is based on her favorite toy as well.
