Kids books is probably not the best way to word it, you can enjoy them at every age, including your childhood, as you get older you may find new truths in them, but they're still good for any age.

A book is a "kids' book" when it is written for kids, regardless of how enjoyable it is as an adult. Perhaps if people stop looking down on adults for reading a "kids' book", the wording will matter less. I happily read kids' books because they're still as good as they were twenty years ago, but they were still written for kids. Calling them something else won't erase the bizarre stigma attached to them.
