Darius x Alador, please :D like, when they were at Hexside
Intresting. I accept :3
Darius was walking through the hallways of Hexside a little before school started and noticed the door to the abomination home room was still open. He peeked inside and Darius saw him working. Alador Blight. Ugh. Darius rolled his eyes.
Alador was everything that Darius was not. Messy, imperfect, and unattractive. The only reason that he could even consider Alador to be a rival was because Darius's abominations were only matched by Alador's inventive ones.
Alador made a loud sigh, which caught Darius's attention again. Alador was taking a small break from his attentive work to rub the sleep out of his tired eyes. His beautiful, piercing yellow eyes. Attached to that handsome face. Alador stretched his arms a little before continuing his work. Titan, he looked so- ok, he was getting off track. Maybe Alador was a little attractive, but that is an emotionally detached fact, nothing more. Probably.
Darius realized this was the perfect time to bother Alador and smirked. What better way to get his mind off of his somewhat attractive rival than to bother him?
"Hello, Alador."
Alador looked up from his work only for a second before continuing. "Darius."
"Are you working on one of your odd inventions again? You will never match against my abominations, you know." Darius said, his smirk still present.
He gave no response to the other witch and just continued to work.
Still determined, Darius continued to pester Alador. "You make a mockery of all abomination users with those inventions of yours."
Darius grimaced. Still no reaction? He dug through his brain. Would could get Alador to pay attention to him? Oh! The smirk returned to Darius's face.
"What does your girlfriend think of all this working? Odalia, was it? She must be soooo done with you and your constant experiments."
Alador stopped for a moment. Only for a moment, though. He was back to work almost immediately. "She has no reason to care about that."
"Wh- she's your girlfriend, of course she cares-" Said Darius, too confused to continue poking fun at him.
"Our relationship is purely professional." Alador still seemed to be unfazed, too focused to really care. Emphasis on seemed. The only tell on his true emotions being an eyebrow twitch.
Darius knit his eyebrows together. "Purely professional? What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
"Purely professional means purely professional," Alador snapped, "Now leave me to my work. You accomplished your obvious mission of trying to annoy me." He immediately returned to working.
Darius stood in silent shock... That wasn't much of an outburst, yet it's the biggest and only one he's ever seen out of Alador. He really struck a chord.
After getting over himself, Darius turned to leave. Before he left, he paused and said, "Sorry." Alador watched him leave and, yes, got back to work.
Darius stood in front of his locker. The whole school day had passed since that... event. And Darius's mind had been occupied by it the whole time. Replaying over and over and over. He wasn't even as upset as usual when Eberwolf flung food onto his clothes. Darius rested his head on the locker. "I really messed up, didn't I?"
"You really did."
Darius swiveled towards the voice. "A-Alador. I- um. What are you doing here?"
Alador crossed his arms. "Our lockers our right next to each other. And you're partially standing in the way of mine."
"Ah." Darius and Alador stood there for an awkward moment.
"...Are you going to move?"
"Yes. Sorry." Darius moved out of the way and watched Alador retrieve his things.
Once he had gotten all his books, Alador looked up to him. "I apologize for my outburst earlier. That's not the way a Blight should act."
Darius rubbed the back of his neck. "It's fine, I was the one who kept bugging you."
Alador nodded and started to walk away. "Wait-" Darius grabbed Alador's arm and Alador raised an eyebrow. "If you don't mind, could you explain what you meant earlier? About you and Odalia's relationship."
Alador arm stiffened under Darius's grasp. He quickly let go. "You don't have to, of course, I'm just curious."
Alador looked back to Darius and he could tell that Alador was hesitant share to him. Finally, he sighed and told him,"It's an arranged relationship. A business deal of sorts between our parents. We're already set to be married once we're old enough." Cut and dry, as always.
"I... honestly didn't expect that." Darius crossed his arms, not really knowing what to do with them. "Do you care about her that way?"
"No. She's an friendly acquaintance, if anything."
They stood there again, an awkward silence creeping between them again.
"If you ever want to talk about it, I'm willing forget about our rivalry for a few minutes and listen."
"I appreciate that. But..." Alador scratched at his face, "We're rivals? When did that happen?"
Darius blinked. "Since... since our first year at Hexside. Don't you remember? You insulted my abomination and smirked while doing so."
"It was constructive criticism."
"Well, what about all those times I insulted you? What did you think about that?!"
"I thought that was your way of flirting and that you didn't know how to properly display your feelings."
Darius blushed furiously. "I know how to 'properly display' my emotions."
Alador nodded his head and hummed. "So it was flirting. I'll take that into account."
Darius blushed harder. He crossed his arms and half-turned away from Alador. "I was NOT flirting!"
He heard a sudden clatter of books against the floor. When Darius turned to see what was happening, Alador was already half-way down the hall, following a small creature that he hadn't seen before. "Alador!"
