Koi fish pharyngeal jaws and teeth. These bones sit in the throats of pretty much all fish. This particular set is from one of my own fish that died a while back and whose skeleton I'm currently cleaning.
Another revelation?
I’m not sure… But I think I may be having another singing revelation. I think I have just accessed my Pharyngeal cavity… I was singing ‘Summertime Sadness’ significantly higher than the original because Lana has the range of a man and I can’t go that low, and for the higher bits which were in the G-B area above middle C I was singing in my “head-mix”. I just made that term up cause that’s what it sounds like to me. Anyway, for some unknown reason I felt compelled to sing the high bits while holding my nostrils closed and suddenly I could hit those B’s in what sounded like my chest voice but what felt like my nose vibrating a whole lot. I’m not sure if I’m just really up there in chest or if that’s the Pharyngeal cavity that I’ve been so confused about for so long… It doesn’t hurt which I guess is a good start. It tickles a little bit though. I need to consult someone!
