So imma hang on to these but the concept of Jellie needs to be just generally talked about, I think.
There's an Incredibly Vague level of realism in my phasmo AU (I mean VAGUE lest we forget Xisuma is a talking possessed computer tower and somewhere Ren the Catholic Priest is battling demons on the regular also Skizz is a constantly dying constantly reviving literal goddam angel) but in the case of Jellie's existence I am of two minds.
The first is that Jellie is a cat and cats live, at best, twenty years.
The second is that Jellie is of course a MAGIC cat, so isn't she special?
The solution for Young and Spooky is thus:
Jellie is a reincarnating cat.
The Jellie we meet is actually Jellie the Second. The original Jellie, Scar's childhood cat, passed away when he was just coming into adulthood and finding her as a kitten was one of his first major Adult Magical Hurdles.
I must stress that there is no vagueness in her IDENTITY. This is 100% Thee Original Jellie, simply reborn as a kitten. Probably the concept of a reincarnating familiar isn't new or interesting, Scar simply had to figure out how to find HIS familiar- a task made easier because she was seeking him at the same time.
If you're a familiar and your og witch, warlock or similar sucks, well, dying and reincarnation's a chance to roll the dice on getting a new human companion. Jellie of course wanted none of that. The moment she was old enough for sapience to make its return she was off and looking.
