Here is the side bar art I drew for the @phasmotale blog!
Papyrus being safe at base while the other boys are out investigating. Blue’s (always) having technical difficulties and you can bet Red’s green with envy that Papyrus doesn’t have to be on-site. ...heh.
in phasmophobia, I've gotten to the point where i know exactly what to do to find the ghost's location, do the tests, and get out asap. this is great! i can do it in like 5-10 mins now! however, new players are just the WORST. "oh no, scary video game basement!!!". i was playing the game with mostly mid-tier players, helping them out, buying everything, everything was great. until one fucking day, i was with a group of people. we were having a good time, i was showing them how the crucifix works. one of them picked it up and the ghost IMMEDIATELY appeared. so, i went to leave. they all closed the door on me. they refused to let me leave. i died. nobody took a picture of my body.i was just so upset. all of my money, wasted. i went to bed.
the next day, i woke up and got on, trying to be nice to people - to die 3 times within 2 hours to idiots. i cracked. the next game i had was with a group of level 1-5 players. one thing I've learned in the game is that you can crouch and sprint at the same time and it doesn't effect your speed. so, i became one of the ghosts.
as soon as the game started, i grabbed all the things i needed, grabbed the keys, and went out the door. they were still deciding what to get. by the time they had made their decision, i already found the room (the phone was ringing and i found freezing temps in a nearby room). so, i sneaked back downstairs, in the darkness, and turned the power off. i saw their flashlights shining at the other end of the hallway right as i slipped up the stairs. i think they saw me because i heard one of them gasp right as i went up the first steps. i hid in a nearby bathroom stall and waited for them to go by. as they did, i let out a 'oooooooooooOooooOOoOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooooooo...' into the mic, which freaked them the fuck out apparently bc i heard one of them yelling "what the FUCK was that?!". i left the bathroom and snuck behind them in the hallway as they were walking. they still hadn't found the room, and somehow managed to MISS it entirely. they had gone to search downstairs. so, i dropped all my equipment in the room, went through one of the back exits right by the stairs to bring stuff, and managed to determine the ghost type. i then waited in the the van and watched them on the camera.
they went into the room after about TWENTY minutes and the ghost was hella pissed. there were orbs in the room but nobody had gone back to check for them. instead, they stood over a book and tried to convince the ghost to write in the book. after another TEN minutes, they gave up and went to leave the room, either to get equipment all at once or to leave, not sure. as SOON as they left the room, i went outside, snuck through the same door i had been using (i don't think they knew that there were side doors) and went right back in the room. i took all their equipment and stashed it in the bathroom stall. i hid in another room a fair distance away, and they were back already. i heard them wtf'ing, confused as hell. they started swearing at the ghost but that didn't work bc one of them got fucked almost immediately. i was laughing my ass off at this point so i decided that it was a good idea to just sit in the hallway and watch them. they came out the room like 2 mins later, immediately noticed me, and asked me where I'd been on the radio. i decided not to answer. instead, i turned around and did my crouchy sprint away. they tried to chase me but little did they know that bathroom stalls are OPENABLE and lost me quite soon. our sanities were all getting pretty low. i decided that 'fuck them' and tried getting back to the truck to take all the pills, to find that they were there themselves. not sure what they were discussing, but they wanted to leave for sure, but they couldn't without me. so, what did i do? i fuckin went downstairs and found a room as far away from the ghost room as possible and waited another few mins, before sneaking back into the now empty van, taking all the pills, and watching them on the cams. one of them got quite fucked by the ghost due to low sanity.
i knew they'd be coming back to the van, and that the other dead people were probably watching me, so i decided to stop hiding and reveal myself. i waited in the van for the person to return. i told him that i hid their stuff and that i was making noises to spook them. he was kinda mad but found it funny. he called me lucifer and when we all went back to the lobby, they were swearing at me in Espanol and then kicked me from the game.
the moral of the story is that phasmophobia really needs an ingame kick feature
“I ain’t even got outta tha car and that thing-a-whatever reader was beeping like crazy. So I went n’ I got backup. No, I didn’t run away.”

I = Interviewer // B = Black I: As we all know, only monsters were affected by the strange phenomena that happened a year ago, how are you coping with living after the events?
B: Fairly well, though I admit it did take some getting used to. Things are so... "soft" here. It is rather strange.
I: And what about you with your other selves?
B: [Mutters heatedly under his breath and though most of it is indistinguishable, "distressingly disappointing doppelgängers," and something about how he "would never stoop to such levels of filth" can be picked up.]
B: [Clears his throat]
B: Suffice it to say, some are more tolerable than others. Tensions have mostly settled now that we are no longer piled within a single room like sardines. I: Touching on that, how are you managing with the government grant for monsters and your upgraded housing accommodations?
B: Are you not listening? Can you not infer that everything is well enough from what I just said?
(Papyrus shoots Black a rather significant look and some rather pointed hand gestures—a very clear message to play nice.)
B: Oh for the love of-!
B: [Groans and drags a hand down his face] Why I am having the time of my life.
I: H-hah hah... What about when your other selves turned up? Where were you?
B: I was attending to my duties as a Royal Guardsman, escorting her majesty. I: That must have been surprising.
B: Yes, a rather unforeseeable occurrence but nothing I could not handle.
I: Last question: why "Black" for your name?
B: [He scowls]
B: It would seem the phrase, "Fortune favors the strong" is incorrect and should be amended to, "Fortune favors the idiotic."
