I would like to let people know of a phishing scam going around. I was contacted the other day but Tumblr only sends me updates about people I personally follow until I talk to said person. They claimed to have falsely reported my profile and gave me a fake WhatsApp and discord account to contact to appeal my Tumblr being deleted. I did not use any of the information they gave me and instead contacted Tumblr Support directly. I took screenshots of the entire conversation along with their profile. Be prepared, because this scam can come from someone else. Always reach through official channels before clicking on a link or using the information they provide.

Please be careful of anything you get from Rhea, ladyiinblack as it may be a scam.

In itch io, there is fake advertising of updated demo versions in the comments.

Do not fall for this! This is fake, likely phishing for information or some other kind of scam!

scammers are getting WAY more creative

okay okay, so I was tagged in a post from a Tumblr blog talking about how my account has been "restricted" because of a minor anomaly. meaning that my account was not visible to anyone on Tumblr and was hidden through search.

I stupidly believed it at first and me and a couple of other artists were tagged in the post.

the post provided a link for us to click to "verify authenticity". when I clicked the link it said to me that my funds as a creator was cut off, which is really funny because I dont get paid by Tumblr.

it then asked me to "verify my bank account" and I do not have any bank accounts associated with this account. from there I knew it was a full on scam. luckily I didnt enter my details.

ive reported the account and reblogged on my main raising awareness for other artists out there

one last thing do not click the links whatever you do they are phishing and even if you dont input info when they ask for your details they can and WILL grab your personal info

guys my account got hacked by a scammer, who contacted me and used my dms for potential phising! THAT IS NOT ME!! i got my account back thanks to the Tumblr help team, but PLEASE BE CAREFUL 🥹🙏

Yall this is some super sketchy shit

Most of the time if you click a drop down and see the actual email address its really obvious that an email is a scam, even if the contents look legit.

Scammers have been using eventbrite to make themselves appear as verified senders at a glance and I'm 100% sure this has tricked more than a handful of folks.

Highly encourage passing this on and maybe reminding less savvy friends and family to Never Click Links in Emails!
