scammer thought id fall for his trap

this guy for real texted me saying him and his "mates" reported me for illegal fraudulent activity because I stole someones crypto wallet 😂 fuck off im a 17 year old revising for exams why the fuck would I have time for that ding dong

then proceeded to tell me that my accounts boutta be banned from Tumblr, common tactic for scammers so if I do get banned this is my last post and I will make a new blog fret not guys

he sent a massive paragraph too but I forgot to read it but whatever

here's why its complete and utter bullshit

firstly I googled this ages ago and multiple people said it was a scam but here are some signs I noticed:

the image in the email that he supposedly received from Tumblr looks as if it was made with Microsoft word

secondly, he refuses to show a full screenshot to verify that the email was from Tumblr, it could have easily been sent from a coworker of his

I reported this bloke for trying to scam me and there was no option for illegal fraud activity fuelling my suspicions that the supposed email from Tumblr was actually made in Microsoft word

Tumblr never sent me an email about this either, im sure if my account was boutta get banned they would contact me about it

Tumblr never asks you to contact their admin or whatever on discord. that just not how it works

Tumblr will NEVER work with the government for anything, they will tell you when reporting an account that if someone is in danger that you should report them to local authorities

furthermore the US government officials - lol im in the UK how very funny is that

"they will not be notified about these claims due to the option selected about this report type" yeah because this report type doesnt exist, secondly, yes Tumblr will let you know if your account is about to be banned or whatever, but he is correct about the fact that a report is not sent to the other account

thus Tumblr will never ask you to contact the other inidivudal when you report someone, its either "flag" or "flag and block"

scammers are getting WAY more creative

okay okay, so I was tagged in a post from a Tumblr blog talking about how my account has been "restricted" because of a minor anomaly. meaning that my account was not visible to anyone on Tumblr and was hidden through search.

I stupidly believed it at first and me and a couple of other artists were tagged in the post.

the post provided a link for us to click to "verify authenticity". when I clicked the link it said to me that my funds as a creator was cut off, which is really funny because I dont get paid by Tumblr.

it then asked me to "verify my bank account" and I do not have any bank accounts associated with this account. from there I knew it was a full on scam. luckily I didnt enter my details.

ive reported the account and reblogged on my main raising awareness for other artists out there

here are some screenshots, if you could also report it would be great

one last thing do not click the links whatever you do they are phishing and even if you dont input info when they ask for your details they can and WILL grab your personal info

okay i am really excited to talk about this animal behavior today!! not a specific animal because a lot of species do this, but i wanna talk to you all about fungus-farming ants (attines), leafcutter ants included 🐜 do not proceed if you don't like close-up pictures of insects!! stop scrolling stop scrolling stop scrolling right meow 🛑

before i really learned about leafcutter ants, i just assumed they ate the leaves, but they actually don't! leafcutters and other attines gather nutrient-rich plant matter and take it back to their colonies so they can grow fungus that they can eat!

humans only started farming about 10-12,000 years ago, but these ants have been doing this for 60 MILLION years!!!! they only live in the western hemisphere, but evidence of attine populations has been found as low as buenos aires and as high as new jersey!

attines are split into lower and higher attines, with the difference being that lower attines haven't domesticated their fungi and the higher attines have (fungi from lower attines can exist without them). higher attines domesticated it by isolating it underground so their fungus can't mix with other fungi. the fungi being domesticated means that it can't even be found in the wild anymore!

doing an amazing freaking job as a farmer

a theory as to why higher attines started doing this is that they went through a huge climate change event that caused their environment to go from being wet and rife with foliage to extremely dry. if they're dealing with fungi that originated in a wet climate, a way for that fungi to survive would be for the ants to take it underground and start cultivating it!

this ⬆️ is a photo of a queen with her little minions. i love the way the fungal gardens start!! after the mating process happens in another colony, a queen will go elsewhere, dig a thin hole underground that can be almost a foot deep, and spit out fungal matter from the previous colony to begin her garden :) she lays a few eggs here and works by herself to keep up with everything until worker ants mature. she doesn't eat the fungus though; instead, she eats most of the eggs she lays 🥚

then, if they're lucky (because most colonies don't end up working out for more than a few months), they have a beautiful fungal garden that can sustain their larvae and the entire colony and they can last for years! higher attine ant colonies can have 5-8 million ants in them, with some estimates stating they can have up to 10 MILLION!!!! yippee!!
