I wonder if Luciano Michelini, when he composed "Frolic" in 1974, could have anticipated that it would be used as the theme music for an American sitcom like Curb Your Enthusiasm.

That said, I also don't think the Curb Your Enthusiasm showrunners in 1999 could have guessed that it would someday be used, widely by people on the internet, as a signifier for enthusiasm having been curbed.

It never fails to gobsmack me the things some of y'all believe Jews believe. I remember someone confidently saying that Jews believe they all go to the Christian version of Heaven, regardless of whether they were good people or not, because they're "chosen" and in Heaven they get a segregated all-Jews section. Like, y'all are just making shit up at this point. And you could just, idk, ask Jews, but even when a Jewish person tells you "um that's not what we believe" you think they're lying.

It's not even a situation where humans cut them all down, they just only live right there. This is probably the result of a glacier: the species used to be more common, but almost the entire range was wiped out during the ice age and only the southernmost ones survived. They're very rare in the wild today and threatened by disease but you can buy them for yourself pretty cheap (USA endangered plant law is weird). There's also a rogue effort to introduce them back into other places in Eastern USA. It's a fun read on Wikipedia if you're interested in some Major Plant Drama.
