This was a little comic I made to introduce my guardian, Phoenix-14 !
Sore Throat, Lost Voice
Short based loosely on the fact that that I lost my voice due to Iron Banner this past week. Sorry if Zavala and the Vanguard are OOC. I’m still learning how to do their personalities
Richa walked into the cafeteria, rubbing her throat, Rev’s cloak wrapped around her.
“You look heavenly.” Phoenix teased as she sat down beside Rev, who proceeded to wrap his arm around her and pulled her in close to him.
“Shut up Phoenix.” Richa painfully croaked, wincing as she coughed into her elbow. She nestled into Rev’s body, absorbing his warmth.
“You sure you don’t want to go back to bed? I can handle the patrols, honey.” Rev asked kissing her forehead. “You’re definitely warmer.”
“What happened?” Risha said sitting down, Zavala’s oversized jacket dwarfing her small Hunter frame.
“We were in the Iron Banner non-stop this past week and she yelled at a lot of the younger Guardians for screwing around and stuff like that. Now she’s losing her voice.”
“Richa, here girl,” Zorlee said pushing her oatmeal closer to their fireteam leader. “Eat this, it’ll help. I’m sure.”
Richa looked at it before eating some of it slowly. Rev watched her worriedly, rubbing circles in her back.
“How bad was it?” Zorlee asked as Richa munched on the oats.
“She could barely talk last night, and this morning she completely lost her voice,” Rev said, digits massaging into Richa’s scalp.
“Who’s losing their voice?” Cayde said sitting down.
“Well, what’s the occasion, Vanguard?” Risha said scooting for Zavala, who kissed her cheek and chuckled when she disappeared into his jacket.
“Even we need to eat,” Cayde stated. “Now, who’s losing their voice?”
Richa, who by now was half asleep again from Rev’s petting, raised her hand before settling back into Rev’s chest.
“But I’m ok for patrols, sir.” She squeaked out, voice thick and weak. Zavala flinched slightly, setting his glass of orange juice down and stared at her.
“What?” She managed to whimper out.
“You need to rest. You will not be accompanying Rev and Zorlee today.” He stated, watching her face for an argument. Richa knew not to argue when he had “The Look” going on. Sighing she nestled closer and continued to eat the oatmeal.
“Maybe next time Iron Banner rolls around, don’t yell at the newer Guardians,” Ikora said, smiling softly at the Titan who was slowly slipping down.
“But they made me mad,” Richa said sleepily, causing everyone to chuckle as she slumped into Rev’s lap. Rev smiled setting the bowl of oatmeal aside and hooked his arms around her shoulders and legs, heaving her upwards before settling back into the seat, cradling her against his warmth.
“Fine, but find someone else because Rev’s mine.”
“Fair enough.” Zavala chuckled.
