Oh.
They feared him.
In that moment, mind still recalling the pain of dying, he realized that everything had changed. There was no going back to before. The hold the Dursleys had on him was gone.
Harry sat up, noticing that for the first time in months he wasn’t hungry. Glancing at his body, he realized that he had been reborn. There were ashes and little bits of kindling fire around him. It was beautiful.
“What are you?” Uncle Vernon whispered, eyes wide. “You were dead.”
“And now I’m not,” Harry said, staggering to his feet. His lips curled when his aunt began to cry and pull at Dudley’s clothes in an attempt to drag him away from Harry. He inspected his hands, feeling a sense of power filling him.
With nothing but instinct driving him, Harry pushed that power into his hands and gasped when they caught fire. The sound of his uncle shoving both Dudley and his aunt out of the cupboard was background noise as he stared intently at the fire. It didn’t hurt, it didn’t burn, it felt good.
What are you?

Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastic World Around You stamps
Stamps for the book Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide for the Fantastical World Around You by Holly Black and Tony diTerlizzi, with illustrations by Tony diTerlizzi.
I may make another of these stamp collections; this one barely scrapes the surface of the diverse faeries inside this field guide, but I wanted to start with the more 'monster' or 'creature' ones first before doing ogres, trolls, goblins, sprites, elves etc.
Two of these images are actually from the novels rather than the field guide.
🔥🐦🎭Rising From the Ashes: A Jester's Deception.🎭🐦🔥
He lounged upon his throne, his expression one of boredom. His fingers drummed absentmindedly against his knee, and his gaze grew distant, lost in thought.
Vex remembered the results of his conquest: the ascent, the euphiora, the fall. He knew the consequences of hesitation-they always caught up to him.
Not wanting to dwell on such a gloomy scenario, he cast his gaze skyward. The realm suited him, filled with discord and despair, but things would have to change if he hoped to spread his influence.
The sound of snuffling drew his attention. He glanced down and noticed one of the more pudgy nightmares seeming preoccupied with something on his cape. He raised a brow and shook his head in admiration.
"Well now! Aren't you an inquisitive one?! Careful. That is made from the finest Uproar. I don't need you tarnishing it." He flicked the nightmare on the nose.
"Tch! Too nosy for their own good!" Despite being reprimanded by the overlord of the Uproar, the nightmare was none the wiser. Its face scrunched up before it expelled Uproar glitter in every direction.
He sighed, irritation evident and rose from the throne. A pair of stairs materialized before him, and he descended eagerly.
At the bottom, a pedestal awaited, its surface etched with ancient Uproar runes. Upon it sat a tome, its title illegible to anyone who had never spoken the language. He waved his hand, and the cover flipped open to a particular page.
"Hm? I could have sworn I had everything cataloged! It can't be helped I suppose." A passage amongst the others caught his attention." Oh ... oh! So that's what this is!" It may have been obvious to him, but he knew his guests would be unable to comprehend his discovery. Now was a good time as any--time waited for no man.
"Still here? I'm flattered! Now then, as most of you may know, the game did not delve into my true backstory. Fortunately for you, I am more than willing to divulge every little detail," he chuckled, giddines filled him. " However, you're going to have to work for it. Giving you the answer outright is far too boring for my taste."
Without so much as a thought, Uproar surged and lashed out, causing the ambient lighting to dim. His eyes gleamed in the darkness--the final thing anyone saw. A promise fullfiled. The nightmare king would rise from the ashes, his deception shattered, revealing how someone so well known could still surprise in more ways than one.
(Surprise! I bet you weren't expecting this, were you?! I apologize for the fact that I have been slacking in regards to answering people's questions, but this, and the fact that I found the perfect 3D animation application for my phone are the reasons why! So no, I haven't forgotten everyone, I have just been doing things that I hope will make this page the best that it can be! Yes, I will still be adding things to my old series, but this new series, making Vex animations, and responding to everyone will be my main focus from now on! I'm beyond excited to share everything with everyone, and I hope you will enjoy!)
“If he’s as bad as they say, then I guess I’m cursed.”
Below them stood a seemingly-perfect scene. Their children were playing together, catching fireflies in torchlights' glow. Katara's husband, his best friend, was playing with them, teaching the kids to be gentle with even the smallest forms of life.
Zuko leaned against the rail of the balcony as he looked up at his old friend. Her features looked worried, soft, and sad in the moonlight. "Katara, you aren't cursed," replied Zuko softly before glancing back down at the courtyard below.
He saw his own daughter, Izumi, giggling as she started up a game of tag. Kya and Bumi were also playfully shrieking as Izumi tried to catch them and Aang kept using his airbending to shoot the kids upwards. The irony, Zuko thought to himself, now Izumi was trying to capture the avatar's kids.
"They're happy kids, Katara. They… they know Aang loves them," he added, though he began fiddling with his hands as they hung over the railing. "They'll understand more when they're older, I'm sure. He's… the avatar, and not only that, he's the last airbender. That's a lot… they'll know."
"And, I know Aang loves you like crazy, Katara. He always has."
