A super spiffy commission of my Ignatius by @phopollo!! I've thought for aaaages he'd look great in their style and I was right!!

For the evil art style, here's some things I've noticed!

-you use a lot of very round shapes and curved edges

-you use a lot of very soft colors, usually with warm tints even when it's a cold color

-the little face squiggles (I love the little face squiggles,,,,)

also YES the face squggles i love doing them. i've noticed them in ur art too sometimes!! we are squiggle buddies!!

Yee! I think we started talking after my first initial rampage of activity working on it, there's a whole lot of old posts in my tag!

The Five Bright Stars follows two MCs, Taps Bettencourt and Riker Venczel (who is an OC version of Riker Szarka). Taps is an antique-class robot who was built to be a dancer in a 5-part troupe called The Five Bright Stars, but became estranged from most of his siblings early on and now hasn't spoken to any of them for years. Riker is a middle-aged, prodigal roboticist with a felony conviction that ruined his career and has been strong-armed into illegal work ('scrapping') by his cousin, Toni. In the current draft, Taps hires Riker to fix him up when he's on the verge of losing his job of 20+ years. Riker takes the work seriously and becomes fond of Taps, and when Taps becomes at risk of being scrapped by Toni's crew, Riker and Taps go on the run, hoping to both escape Toni and reunite Taps with his family. The story also covers both of their backstories in detail, from Taps' time as a carney and a medical aid, to Riker's childhood in rural Missouri and the fallout of his felony charge.

FBS as a project started in April of 2019 with the birth of Taps as a character, and while I made the decision to shelve it so that I could finish the askblog first, it's still very dear to me! I'll be starting a writeblr blog for it around March so I can log progress, starting with figuring out a satisfactory plot outline.
